I can’t believe the price difference between Triumph & MG with brakes. I got a pair of discs for my midget for £11.98 and about £25 for my dads MGB. I can’t understand why the Dolomite discs are so much!
It's simply the law of supply and demand, there are loads more MGBs and Midgets about than there are Dolomites, even though all Dolomites share a disc, they are not a frequent swap item, so no supplier is going to order 500 sets at a time to get the cost down. I doubt even Rimmers keep more than half a dozen pairs on the shelf. Because they have to pay more for small quantities, they pass this on to us (no doubt, with interest)

Its not so much a Triumph thing as a Dolomite thing.
If you look at Rimmers
Spitfire/Herald discs - 12.50
Dolomite discs - 46.50
I guess as other people have said it's just down to supply and demand.
However I did get a feeling at Stoneleigh that MGs are much better supported than Triumphs

Same discs also used on the 2000/2500, which admittedly does not widen the market that much...

The standard steel rims on my MK2 2000 are 13", though a 14" wheel fits as I remember eyeing up Stag wheels back in the day but didn't have the money to buy any.

A 2500 and Stag wheels, damn you!

I've often thought about getting a 2000 again, my first car and it'll take me right back to just passing my test and being 17 and two weeks (couldn't wait to get that driving license) all over again, which is usually what stops me!
