Starting woes

Wow ok, food for thought here! I had the head worked on and cam followers adjusted etc a couple of years ago, so I guess, potentially it could be something like you say Jeroen? Would it still start successfully though when used the same day?? Thats why I'm thinking fuel!

Steve, it sounds very much to me like you could be the winner. Perhaps the jets are working loose or something then - I will have a good check tomorrow morning on that front. The float chambers were half full when I removed the float itself, I don't know but perhaps were completely full with the float in?! I will do more checks

That thought had crossed my mind Steve After all it is reversable. I dont really want to play with mine as when i does start it runs great with good economy as well 36mpg on a run It sounds a good idea though for Kyle as his is a daily driver?

An electric pump shouldn't affect performance OR economy, but you might find you'll need a pressure regulator to go with it or risk flooding from too high a pressure over-riding the not very effective needle valves.

I think I've sorted the dodgy starting, which I believe was down to the jets working a little loose in the bottom of the float chambers. I'm not 100% because I haven't yet let the car sit very long over the last 3 days, but every time she's started without a hitch so I'm pretty confident! Thanks for all the help!
