How many of them were a Triumph 1300 which ha a very different input shaft arrangement to any other front wheel drive car?
There is an weak spot on the 1300 shafts due to their design

If the cutch bearing support (metal tube which the shaft goes through) is worn or loose that can cause the shaft to snap.

The supplied shaft was a new, old stock, with the nylon bolts etc fitted when it left here.
I'm perplexed by this, I thrash my 1300 hard, when the engine was changed at 100k miles, the only wear on its shaft was some fretting on the clutch splines.
The shaft that went in was a partner to the one Steph had. It's towed, done trackdays, and been generally been abused with no issues for a lot of miles.
Steph also had a nos clutch plate from me.
Really confused by this one, and really want to know what's happened.

The Saab 99/900 has an almost identical setup, with the early 99s using the Dolomite engine, I suspect the transfer gears came from the same pen! THEY don't break clutch spigot shafts for a hobby. Even with a Turbo in front of them!
Back in the day I DID fit a number of clutches to 1300FWDs (and probably a handful of shafts) including my mums car I mentioned above. All went in with a smear of copaslip to help them on their way and none came back broken. I never EVER fitted a 2nd shaft to the same car.
I don't claim to be a world expert on the FWD cars, but 50 years of experience, starting with a 4 year MVT apprenticeship on Triumph in the early 70s, has included a good few, along with everything else from Lada to Rolls Royce.
And I repeat, as Matt has, the grease, wrong grease, or lack of grease on the shaft will NOT cause a NEW shaft to fail in less than a fortnight! There MUST be something else amiss!

I was asking Dollyman. The Triumph 1300 has a known Weak spot on the shaft, this is so well know that some triumph specialist designed an improved shaft. but as I said earlier not only are some of them 50 year old a lot of people over look the thrust bearing support bush which if worn or loose can cause the shaft to snap

Steph now has another NOS input shaft and is going to have another attempt at fitting it, which no doubt she will film to show on her youtube channel. Hopefully we should find out what went wrong with the previous shaft soon.

I've only just noticed this post. Welcome to the forum Steph.
Lots of good advice has been given. I did mention the special grease in one of your YouTube videos.
Hope you can get it sorted.
