Re: Castle Coombe Club Triumph/MGOC Track day - Monday 14 July

Well it was a fine day with a few troubles on my car as it snapped its exhaust completely at the down pipe while trying to stay with a K series engined Midget (video to follow) I could not have got him so swarm leader Mart gave him a spanking
I managed to cobble some sort of repair but still unable to stay with the Midge or Mart.
All the Triumphs enjoyed themselves and Paul showed why most people opt for my brake mod as once again his pads destroyed themselves
Went out in Bruce's (Brad) Sixfire, fantastic sound and feels quick and Mart thundered past us
Sadly another MG crashed and damaged all down the side most likely a write off.
At the end of the day Diane (Stiglet) and I had put over 100 miles of Castle Combe on the car and although I am not sure how many, I do know that we have literally done over a thousand miles at or near the red line with this engine that I built myself 8 years ago, so this winter I will take it apart and rebuild it again, cos I think its just a tad tired.
One more interesting fact, is that including track work the car returned 22 mpg which is remarkable.
The temp gauge never went over half, even while redlining the poor thing on track.
I love my Sprint, its a damn good toy.
