Looks like it would make it burble nicely if you can sort the clearance?

Ok, so now i have been told i have until the 30th march in the garage.

So, i will be frantically trying to just get some paint put on it, have to just paint it standard black now no time to do anything different.

I guess i will have to get it towed to outside my house, buy tax and a road permit (on a main street in borough of westminster) hope i dont get too many complaints from the neighbours-(they have been known to report a bicycle that was locked to a lamp post for too long amongst other things) without finishing the flatting or compounding the paintwork or fitting anything to it.

I will try to get some sort of soft cover i suppose, prob still scratch fresh paintwork though. I will have to fit everything up over time on the street, fix the gearbox problem/fit & bleed cooling/clutch system etc, make up some sort of headlining, fit all mechanical/elec stuff, weld up the exhaust etc etc.

The only thing i will be doing from now until the 30th is just trying to get it ready to paint/paint, which in itself will be a miracle if i can do that. :(

Oh to have my own garage...

Where in Westminster?

I'm in Limehouse E14, so not a million miles away... If you need a hand I'd be happy to help :)

Why not store it down west and finish it at weekends in the dry...

Just a thought....PM me for details.

I'd focus on gettiing it to drive. Towing cars about is both time consuming, dangerous and attracts the wrong sort of attention.

Once it moves and is a living driving car, its a lot easier to sort the rest out. You've come a long way....now is not the time to give up.

Indeed it is not. Good luck with whatever plan you follow in order to keep the project going.

When I had CAB in primer and partially stripped back in 1990 whilst unemployed, I took a Friday afternoon off to go to an interview. Was offered a job, accepted and as I left was asked "you do have use of a car don't you?" Yes, no problem, see you Monday morning was my reply. I went home, put several top coats onto it, reassembled it to roadworthy state and drove it to work on the Monday morning.

Of course you can do it!

Thanks again everyone for the encouragement, been a big help as always. I'm quite quick job wise its just that there is not enough hours in the day it seems. Right now i'm focusing on doing the bodywork in order to get it primed. Aside from body issues the doors were quite rusted so i've had to do quite a bit of work to sort them out.

I would have loved to do something special with the paintwork, but im happy just to finish it at the moment with the way things have been going.

I'm in there tomorrow until the evening so i guess i wont be on here until sunday after i finish other work i have to do. cheers everyone. :D

Took a couple of pics of the exhaust sitting on a stand to show the rough area/look of it out the side,it will look like its got some sort of v12/plane turbo engine due to the exhaust size and it being out the side.lol

Also, as usual i keep rethinking the paint (i love custom painting) and i'm into hotrod stuff etc, so originally i thought if i keep the paint fairly simple as in no flake/metallic, then i was going to do non metallic gloss black. I have been thinking over the last few days and seem 80% sure that it is as easy and i do love the look if its done properly, to do the whole car in matt black. now that the body will be all sorted it should look pretty good and the chrome will stand out well after a bit of polishing, eventually i will do something with the wheels too, but for now i have to focus on getting it ready to sit on the road rather than going mad with the details. :(
