I need one of these for so many things, in fact I'd probably need two of them.
From picking up my squash ball to tying my shoelaces to cleaning the oven.....
1. Are they expensive to procure and maintain?
2. How long can I use them before they outlive their usefulness?
3. What supplier would you recommend and is it still a 9 month lead time?

I have a much older version which is costing me a lot of money these days, and doesn't seem to work on anything much any more.

I had a couple of those as well, but I never got a lot of work out of them.

Can I borrow yours to check where/how water is getting in my Spitfire boot?

If the spacers on your rear dampers are tapered make sure they're on the right way round.

Yeah they are tapered, the taper slopes forward doesn't it?

I've just done a search and the thread in question is HERE It was a big help for me when I had to replace the rear springs and dampers on my 1850.

Thanks Toledo Man, I will read the thread again later as it seems a bit confusing, but I think the general agreement is the taper slopes forward, that's the way I have always fitted them.

Lol...

I like the way you have done away with the spring colour coding....

Orange ones are always shortened and uprated in my experience...I have some std length but uprated rate in blue and the orginals are black.

Metallic blue or black for the spring top plates. Shockers were metallic blue OE too...

(I'm too good for this place....but I know you all know when to ignore me..)

Lol back

The springs are uprated & shortened & I'm not exactly going for OE look on this car so to save a bit of money I had all the bits painted the same colour.

What's your opinion on the rear tapered mount fitting?

I can never remember which way the taper goes but if its wrong the shock absorber bush doesn't line up with hole in the trailing arm.
