Looks pretty good!
Fancy fitting a passenger one to mine? It's like a sieve; but with more holes and less metal

I can't weld! The car would be on fire within 20 seconds if I tried

Haha!
Mind you; I once attempted to weld something that had been painted, very thickly; with hammerite... flap wheel kindof died; so our D&T teacher told us to go for it - "what's the worst that could happen". Turned out it was a large fire that we couldn't put out!

Woo!
It's actually a fair bit more than that as the speedo is under-reading by 20-25%

Hello Howard
Long time no see, she is looking very good, considering what she was when you acquired her, hopefully in the not so far distant future i'll nip down in something that resemble's a triumph.
All the best
Darren

Howard, you don't have a passenger front floor that you don't want do you? I'll put up some photos later, but I don't really have one!

The MoT is due in early November, so I've been doing all those little odd jobs to ensure it will pass.. Last year the advisories were as follows:
Well we all know about the wheel bearings.. but I might nip them up a bit before the test.. but they have been replaced with new since then!!
The handbrake has never been great despite being adjusted fully as it had a longer 1500 cable fitted - the MKIV cable is 2" shorter due to the shorter axles. It had been wound in to the maximum limit on all three ends!
I duly sawed the old cable off and pulled it out only to find that it is a total faff to get the new cable in due to the stupid design of the chassis pivots! After ruining one cable trying to bend it around the pivots in one go I had to buy another, but at this time I got the technique right. It needs to go through the chassis pivots one hole at a time (looping around), but you need to faff about with the positions of the rear driveshafts as they're right in the way!!
I haven't yet fitted the second cable that goes to the handbrake.. the pivot is blocked by the exhaust and the propshaft, so I'll replace that when they come off one day. It needs doing as it's wound right in, so I've had to take up the slack with the rear cable. For now it's all adjusted and working great!
As usual, the wrong 1500 rear cable didn't escape the bodgery of a previous owner.. the backing plate spring clips were the wrong way round..
Secondly, fixing the electric washers.. easy and I wonder why I've been ignoring them for the last year

Warning on wheel bearings, this is printed automatically by the computer where Manufacturer=Triumph. That is all.

Passed - and it didn't even get a single advisory
When I went to collect it, the tester commented "I'm not surprised it passed - it's like brand new under there"
I'm chuffed to bits, it certainly makes the last year of hard work worthwhile
Not keen on the new "cost saving" certificates, just a bit of paper with the details printed on..
