So first thing this morning I finished off installing the axle, which took twice as long as expected (it helps if you put the shocks on the right way round  ).

So then Mary & I started on the vinyl roof...

Haven't given it a thought Mike, but it won't be far off.

Fitted the carbs, alternator, fan. Doors are coming along nicely too.

(On the floor under the offside back door)
you're not going to fit that Falcon exhaust to this car, Martin?

(I think I should write an article on my experiences with "sports" exhausts for submission to Dolly Mixture,
since over the past two years I have (by trial and error) gone from a Falcon exhaust system
to one which is actually "straight through", cheaper, quieter (very much so inside the car), easier to fit
and almost vibration free at 60mph .
It might not be a good thing, but I can now speak (rather than shout) to my passengers :? )

That was going to be the case until MikeyB dropped off a nice S/S standard exhaust earlier this evening.

We've done quite a bit over the weekend although looking at it not a lot seems to have changed. I started to fit the fuel & brake lines under the car but found I didn't have enough clips, they should be here tomorrow. Fitted the handbrake mechanism and cables so it now has a working handbrake. Fitted the dash, rear windscreen, blower, fuse box, choke cable & other bits & bobs.

Mary thanks you Stu. :D

Here is the exhaust I got from MikeyB yesterday. I think it needs a bit of a polish but I'll leave that 'til the weekend. :woohoo:

I also fitted the engine stabiliser bracket this evening (the one that is held on by the exhaust manifold bolts). Some bright spark forgot to put it on before putting the engine back in so I had to remove the engine mounts & jack the engine up so that the front two bolts would clear the inner wing.

Kind of wandering off topic I suppose....

Whilst scanning through Dolly Mixtures for articles of interest, the following caught my eye in DM75 April 99
SCOTTISH SPRINT
1974 M-reg Sapphire blue Sprint, fully rebuilt 1995, photographic record.
1800 dry miles since, any inspection welcome. Vast sum spent.
Now super value. £3000
CALLUM (Glasgow)
0141 etc

3k, what a bargain! :D I've spent well over that already and I'm still buying stuff. Still, it's worth it. :D

A few photos of progress to date. Finishing strip from Wins arrived Saturday so put that in (must update other thread). Rear seats in. Trim added. Rear bumper attached but I'd like to find a better one. A few more bits in the engine bay...

Is that a Stag seatbelt buckle? It looks like red release buttons to the back?
If so, it is the wrong way round.

I thought it was a fair price, but the phone didn't ring once!! In the end, £1700 took it! :(

So if I turn it round the red buttons will be nearest the floor but the word 'PRESS' will be upside down, is that correct Ian?

I quite like the ones with the red buttons Mike. (which are now up the right way ie. upside down)

So this weekend I spent most of my time on my back (insert amusing remark here).

Started off fitting new pipe clips for the fuel & brake lines running to the rear of the car. Had to make up a couple of brake pipes as well. Then I fitted the brackets for the exhaust hangers. (remember this was a 1500 shell) Luckily I have my track Sprint to get the correct dimensions. Went to fit the prop shaft but can't find the special bolts for the flanges (well I found four). Fitted the remaining door trim. The first fluid to be added was the clutch fluid. I held the slave arm in with the bleed nipple undone whilst Mary filled the reservoir. I let the fluid flow through for a while until no air bubbles were visible, locked the nipple & pumped the peddle, jobs a good'un. :D Fitted the gearbox wiring loom, headlights & front indicators (even got them the right way round  )
