Thanks James yes I think they will go nicely on any dolly mine will have the gold coachlines as well that was the thinking behind doing it.James467 wrote:The gold looks superb![]()
How were they done, gold, black then polished?
They would look great on a Carmine car with gold coachlines!
I would remove the paint from the mating face of the wheel nuts though, would hate to see you loose a wheel!
Not 100 percent sure but they were stripped i think by sandblasting then the gold was first followed by the black and finally diamond cut.

Rob I see you have a nearside wing fitted. Did you perchance keep the top C post up to the roof?
If so I'm in need.....mine has gone rotten under the vynil.

Superb work Rob, this is a great example of how to replace the panels.
Have you gone 'original' and poured bitumen sealant down the inside of the inner wheel arch to seal it against the outer?

Never understood why they did that as if you use proper seam sealant you can do a perfectly good job from the outside. The bitumen/pitch just makes a mess.

Thanks for your kind words. The bodyshop guy is very painstaking in his approach and does a very nice job. He uses a seam sealer. Obviously the paint on inside surfaces is to also protect but we will also be using some cavity wax spray in all areas as well.
Now both sides are done there is a small delay before final prep work to the car for the respray including the near side sill and some minor welding to the bonnet around the catch plate. Getting exciting now!
