Went to see XJX on Saturday. He's done a grand job of lining up the wings & scuttle...

I used a heat gun (on the lowest setting of two) and a paint scraper.

Started on the servo...

I've stripped the alternator down but I'm waiting for parts so I'll put all the photos up once I've got it all back together again...

I repainted my servo recently too but it occurred to me that I don't actually know whether it is any good or not as the car was a shell when I got it.

Are there any bits I should look at replacing as it looks a bit welded together to me! Are they prone to going wrong Mart?

Shake it. If it rattles, it's US!

There has been some Ken but I've yet to see it. Hopefully Saturday morning I will return from the spray shop with some more pics. [-o<

It's been a while since the last update but all good things...

Due to a shortage of staff, Jon the sprayer had to farm XJX out to another shop to get the welding done. It has now been fully welded including new club cills, front foot wells have been sorted, strip on the underside of the boot, headlight 'Z' sections and a few other bits & pieces.

Can somebody give me the dimensions of the centres of the holes for the trim clips which hold the chrome 'hockey sticks' around the rear panel please.

Sorry to hear about your wheelie frame, but the car's coming along a treat. It'll look great once the paint's on!

I received the bulkhead pad yesterday. I got it from Aldridge Trimming as per Mark's resto. Cost was £55.01 plus postage which came to £63.41 in total. The material is 12mm. thick and is very light compared with the original. It's good to know that someone is remanufacturing these. The pads are made to order so expect to have to wait a week or so.

Edit: Although I asked if this pad was specifically for the Sprint and was told it was, it isn't. I remember Mark telling me that I would need to cut out a section where the Sprint downpipe exhaust shield goes.

We have further progress on XJX. I was hoping that it would be finished for this weekend as I have next week off. I will have to make do with rebuilding the track Sprint's engine.

Some pics, similar to the other restos...

It must be such a relief and so rewarding when you get to this stage, only needing to refit parts to a freshly painted shell.
