That sheet steel is a bargain :) .

newguy wrote:decided id try connect thespeedo up, but my cables to short.

Try a T2000/2500 speedo cable, as these are longer.
The ends vary on these cables, I think what you need is from a T2000 mark2/2.5PI mark 2 (with A type overdrive) or possibly an auto. In his thread, you'll see that Triplecustard used a Stag speedo cable but I suspect that T2000/2500 models are more common/less rare in New Zealand?

So either a
T2000 Mark2
2.5PI Mark 2
With A Type Over drives?
Or an Auto

Think it should be Doable
Will ring Dez at the Graveyard See if i can pop Round tonight to get a view.
Pretty sure hes already got alot pulled out of cars etc.
In his Museum Parts Department

This Will Be Great if i can get a match ETC

Thanks Man

Cheers Mart

Also
Tonight i spent a good 6 hours on the car............
Prept the Rear End under the boot for some new underseal.
Under Sealed it.
Did good thick Patches over the welds etc.
Pulled my Boot Lid off my old car and put it on the new Shell.
Also Checked all the Suspension Mounting Bolts.
Found a leak in the Donors Tank.
Pulled my tank out of my old car.
Installed it in the donor.
Now i dunno if i can get my smiths gauge to power it etc hopefully i can get it to.
Re installed rear lights.
Dropped the car back down, sitting nice at the back but the front needs the adjusties back in.( After warrent )
Depending on how much lower i could drop the adjusties i think i could pull 175/50s off hard.
Fixed over drive switch for good.

.s##t things take time.

No pics as my memory card is still chilling at work.

After this whole weekend working on the car, bogging the welds up
Hung 3 of the doors i still felt like i was not getting anywhere.

My aim is to get a Wof

Not Panel And paint etc etc

I Keep Saying im going to make a list and i have and i havent in a sense.

So this is what i think i have to do before going for a wof

1.Sort My Doors out so that the open and close nicely and line up etc
2. Attach Bonnet
3. Attach Number Plates
4. Switch Vin Plates
5. Get Front Left parking Light and indicator going
6. Position Driving Lights
7. Bleed the brakes to make sure they all workin mint
8. Patch Driver Door A pillar Rust hole
9. Patch Engine Bay Rust hole by Speedo cable
10. Patch Rust hole on either side of engine were bonet stops go.
11. Patch the gearbox cover.
12. Decide on the Rear Number plate light arrangement
13. Primer Doors, Boot, Bonet
14. Install Turbo

What i can think of over like a hour tonight.

Having the night off the car to gather my thoughts.

Im going to print this off tomorrow and decide on which tasks to do, Work threw them that way so i feel and know im getting somewhere.

Want to sit a warrent late next week

It has a after market sender unit though only has two connectors

On the original sender, one wire(black) is the earth, one (green/black) goes to the gauge and the other (green/orange) the low level warning light. So I guess you don't need the green/orange?

Good luck for the test.

Patched gearbox tunnel hole, and covered in dynamat to make it look tough and tidy, it
Also stopped a hell of alot of noise, Box, engine, road etc and the draft from there is gone
