It's KSF, it will never be finished :lol:

As with the wheels.. kind of.. I have 6 wheels all dated 1978.. unfortunately I have three of the GKN style, and three of the non-GKN! So not enough to send a set of four for refurbishing, and having one "odd" wheel on the car would just drive me nuts :lol:

HI howard

Looking nice, it was nice too see KSF in the flesh a few weeks ago, the chrome looks nice. Those nuts you gave me with steel rims fitted my TC. Locking wheel nut set has been put to one side for you for when you are ready for them.

I will keep an eye out at autojumbles etc for the 78 alloy.

Thanks Darren, I'm looking forward to seeing the wheels all painted up and on your TC! :D

Two more jobs done on KSF today; both rear bumper quarters painted up and fitted, and the rear trim fitted around the rear of the roof.

I got the clips from Bresco, but they are quite different from the originals. I'll update about these on the thread I created about them, so pointless to repeat here! The "feet" at the base of the trims were rechromed, although one came out perfect, the other was very badly pitted, so a couple of pits are still visible.

I removed the rear bumper from the car and was pleased to say that it is in just as good condition as it was when put on the car nearly a year and a half ago! There's a picture of it on Page 3 of this thread. I bolted the two quarters on to it, and put the bumper back on the car. I do want to replace the repro bumper dome-headed chrome bolts I got from Rimmers as they are the wrong shape, but I can't remember where my originals are! I think they may be in Poole. Besides, the new bolts are going rusty already :x

You can also marvel at the standard exhaust system that is now fitted, those twin pipes look fantastic 8)

Finally, I have finally managed to find two more "78" dated wheels, so I at last have a full matching set of five!!! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Nah, it looks rubbish. Take it apart and do it all properly this time please. I just don't know how you can tolerate having some pitting in that trim piece. Terrible, just terrible.

Do I really have to say how good it looks? Ok, I will. It looks bloody great mate. Now get those wheels sorted and sleep at night.

KSF has recently made it to Coventry for the TDCIR, where it was the only Pageant car in attendance, not like common old Magenta, where there were three :lol:

The car ran great, I do get a little bit of whining and shake when I lift off the throttle at around 70mph, but not sure what this is. Possibly the propshaft, but I have a spare I can swap over. Anyway, it's only minor, I'm a bit of a perfectionist :lol:

It was a great day out, and nice to meet various members! :)

A couple more issues surfaced on the way back from TDCIR - I lost my brake lights and the horn decided to stick on when going round a roundabout!

Luckily the brake lights were due to me inadvertently pulling the wire off after I had the dash panel out :oops: easily fixed at the service station :D

The horn problem is due to the indicator switch packing up AGAIN (this is the 6th switch I've had fail!). Luckily it's due to the button in the end of the arm, not the switch part; these just pull out so I might be able to salvage a spare arm off a broken unit and swap them over with a little bit of soldering...

Finally, I now have a matching set of five GKN wheels all datestamped "78" :mrgreen:

And three non-GKN 78 wheels as spares :lol:

Will be polished up and on the car soon...

looking very good :D bet your made up with the matching set of wheels i really prefer the standard twin pipe system they look much better from the back, love the stickers in your rear window :D

A couple of weeks ago, the driver's door handle stopped working - the button would press in, but nothing would happen.

Today I took off the door panel to investigate, and the back of the door handle had snapped off! Annoying as it was a new handle. Luckily, I still had the original (but pitted) ones, so took the back off the old handle and fitted it to the new one. Works perfect, but was one heck of a fiddly job.

As an added bonus I found a little present in the bottom of the door bottom. A watch! It was exactly the same as my old one, that went missing over 6 months ago, around the time I fitted the black interior.. Oops! :mrgreen:
