Right. Awfully sorry about the delay. But a lot happened! Including a week trip to the Nurburgring!


Best holiday ever.

When I got back we had a bigger "garage" to put up. So out with the old and in with the new.

Once that was done it was time to start working on the underside. But we both decided that working on our backs was a bad idea. So we set about making a rollover jig!























And the grand unveil!!

That was last weekend. Since then I've been cleaning the underside.











Coming along!

Got a bit of rust to contend with at the bottoms of the rear wings.



Best hit it with the grinder!







And started putting new back in!!

Some great work and fabrication there.

I think it is better to plug weld that chassis rail to replicate the original spot welds it will be stronger.

Cheers Tony. I agree with plug welding the chassis rail however this is already welded on and was not done by myself and uncle. It is very strong and I will make it stronger by finishing small parts that the previous welder has missed.

More progress from tonight. The big gaping hole is now gone!!









Tomorrows plan is clean up the welds on this repair then finish off the near side cill end:)

Tonight's progress saw the n/s/r wing bottom repair cleaned up and rust proofed.




Also a small patch to the inner arch.







We also repaired a piece in the top of the n/s/r wheel arch.

Nice work..love the shed, wish I had something like that to actually move around the car in.

What process did you use BTW to remove the underseal?

Cheers mate. For the under seal I used a heat gun to soften the under seal then scraped the worst of it off. Then just hit it with a knot wheel on a grinder. In the smaller nooks it was scraped out with a screwdriver then washed with thinners:)

So today a bloody big box arrived with my wide arches in it:D it's amazing how stressful cutting out good metal is compared to cutting out rust!
