Keep on going the way you are & yours will be excellent Colin. :D Just remember, before you put bits back on, clean them, paint them, whatever, just don't put the bits back on the same as they came off. :D :D :D

cheers Mart. I've stripped and resprayed the servo, heater blower and I'm generally cleaning as much as poss. cant wait for the car to go for paint as it's free storage and gives me space and time to get the engine cleaned up and running on the driveway.

I'm just not as fortunate as you, with your nice posh garage and helpful partner

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction. :D and yes, hat off to you for doing it on the driveway, I believe Lee did his there as well (not on your driveway, his).

Don't mention the 'W' word, you'll give Mary ideas.

She helps you do that, again, and you haven't made an honest woman of her??? How many times have you seen a bloke have to sell his car because he's with the wrong woman?

Better watch out else Adam might turn cucko, then you'd be all :sadsack:

SFB has now left for Northern Ireland. so you may see it on the M5, M6 or wherever today on it's way to Scotland to get the Ferry.

Nice to me Alan (yellow mitch) the new owner & his Dad Victor who has the task of driving it home.

Well Raj and SFB happened to pass my driveway today...
I was out doing the floor on the spit, which is another story.

So some impressions as it needs a bit of fettling but not much...:-)

The bodywork is still superb. It looks really good in Flamenco. I'm not sure why this was dropped for Vermillion as I think I prefer it now. It wasn't that common at the time though. Door cappings...could be better. Dajafman has some better efforts in his yellow 1850, but then you all know I like to blow my own trumpet. I'll let Mart off as I'm sure his later efforts are better.
Someone hasn't done that good a job on the brakes. It now has a master cylinder off a Vauxhall I think, which looks weird. The peddle has some slop which makes me suspect it either hasn't been completely bled or more likely the rear brake self adjusters are on strike.
The chrome air filter looks good but is a bit OTT. Mart will be pleased to know it still features the polished brass tank. The air inlet hose bracket seems to direct the hoses against solid metal, which cant be good for breathing, so we sorted that out too.

The carbs were out of balance but arent now....:-)
I'd have thought for that sort of money it could have gone out the door with a decent electronic ignition. Leaving it on points is....well pointless.
Why does it rear end steer already ? Surely new axle radius arm bushes should have lasted a tad longer?
I'm not convinced about the ride height either. Its too low as it is and the tyres are wearing the inside edge a bit.

It drives well apart from the rear end twitch. Nice and quick but a tad noisy cos of the exhaust. I have to say as the Sprints go by I'm more convinced than ever that the standard exhaust is the best.

Lovely car and a very nice owner. Raj it was a pleasure to meet you and I hope to do some more on SFB as time permits.
