Thanks a ton. I"ll return it and grab a 9-3. The amazing thing is the price. The 9-5 was $140 US!

Fitted the rear screen at the weekend with a the screen rubber from Rimmer's and the screen trim from Witor's.

Don't think the fit is quite as good as original and it's a bit puckered in places on the inside.....I followed what it said in the repair manual and fitted the weather strip wit the screen in situ and it was a pig! Even carefully hitting it with a rubber hammer won't get it to sit all the way in but as I have no point of reference, I don't know whether or not that's as good as it will get!

Think it looks cool though! :)

Got Super Al coming round next week to plumb all the brake lines in, inside the car and the sign writer the following week to paint it up ready for Blakemere......

It won't be as ready for Blakemere next week as I'd liked, so I'll not take it unfortunately. I'll put an appearance though and if anyone wants to come and have a look here, I'm only 10 mins away, then they're more than welcome...I'll even get the kettle on!

In the meantime, popped some lightweight windows in today...well, one rear door and got some interior door furniture and locks in.

I got in touch with plastics4performance about getting some plastic windows some time ago, but they didn't make them. They suggested that if I sent them a full set of dolomite windows (they do 2 door Toledo ones), they would replicate them and send me a full set of polycarbonate (or whatever it is...) free of charge, providing they could keep my heavy glass ones.

Well, they are phenomenal quality and feather light, I'm very impressed!

I'll report back to them and see what they'll off the TDC in terms of discount or pricing etc. if anyone's interested.

Good for you - trailblazing another first for the club. I'm interested in these windows too. If they can match the Sundym blue/green tint, that would be perfect.

What thickness did you go for: 4 or 5mm? Any estimate on the weight difference?

They can add a tint I think but being a bit dim I forgot to request it....I had a set of sundym but sent them the original untinted ones so untinted I got back!

They measure a smidgen over 5mm and I've just very crudely done a weight comparison of a rear window...the original sundym weighs 2.6 Kg...the plastic one weighs about 1Kg, but feels much less!

I don't intend for the rear windows to open so I haven't included the metal runner that the window winder mechanisms runs in, so the plastic one doesn't include the metal runner at the bottom....I'll pm you the companies details...

Borrowed my neighbour's compressor and decided to cover most of the garage, the outer surfaces of the car, the path and a few minor interior surfaces of the car in dinitrol rust inhibitor today...not the most successful day I've ever spent in the garage!

I gave up trying to use a compressor for rustproofing. Just too messy. Get yourself half a dozen aerosols of Bilt Hamber Dynax S50, they come with a long extension probe and work much better, and no mess.

Have fitted a new loom from Automec which seems to be a mix of all sorts of variants so a bit of confusion when trying to allocate what wires go to what.

If no-one beats me to it, i'll check my wiring digram at the w/shop omorrow about the coil wires. The fuse box is correct except you have he purple and brown wires the wrong way round on the box, it doesn't make any difference in service but the way its supposed to be is with the unfused feeds on the left (as you look at it) and the outputs on the right. Yours has one going each way!

As ever, cheers Steve....do you mean it should be purple on the right and brown on the left?
