Just for you old friend, I took this snap on Saturday....

Image

LD looked really good and seemed to running as sweet as a nut. It pays to keep on top of things though, as you say.

Thought the badges looked rather cool myself..

beauty... I'll see if I can get a sample made up on a popsickle stick and I'll have a good look in the sunlight at "hammonds" paint place. Funny coincidence that isn't it. I'm after a really fifties style creamy colour so I'll give it a bash and see what comes up.

Btw mate, Lemondrop is looking gorgeous, any chance of us seeing some pics of her with the new springs fitted?

No problems, will do. It is a nice colour and you don't see that many Honeysuckle cars around. Well, I don't think so.

She's got a few bits here and there to sort out but nothing drastic. If I can find some of the other pictures I'll pm them to you.

Cheers

Thought I had better crack on with sorting out the leaky steel T pipe that the heater hoses go onto. The problem being several corrosion orientated pinprick holes in the steel pipe. I tried to fix with a bit of chemical metal but it didn't sort it out totally. The L2B saw the temp guage climb about halfway between the upper reading of normal and the red. It was hot though and traffic was solid at times on the way to the meeting point.

Image

So, I have used a copper T piece, kindly made up by Nutter81, however, the outer bore of the copper pipe is just a fraction too wide and it was a struggle to get the rubber hose onto the pipe. It is all secure for now, and I don't supppose that it'll be a problem. I might however have a couple of pipes made up in stainless so it would be a 'fit and forget' scenario. I have the old piece so it shouldn't be too much hassle. There might even be a opportunity to provide the same to people in similar circumstances perhaps?

Image

Everything went well with regards to removal of the old T piece (apart from one rusty jubilee clip) and fitting of the new T piece. The bottom hose needs to be replaced with the genuine article as the hose I have used appears to be insufficiently reinforced and is kinking slightly. Not a huge problem.

Anyone know of a stainless fabricator who might be able to help?

Forgot to ask. Does anyone have the part number or the 'name' of the hose that goes from the bottom of the T piece to a pipe on the lower rear of the block? As soon as I know that, I can order it from somewhere.

Thanks

Ken

If you're trying to stretch rubber piping over something I can wholehearedly recommend either softening the rubber hose in hot water or rubbing a sniff of fairy liquid over the thing you're fitting the hose to..

Worked superbly for me in the past..
