I have a standard stainless system that'll be cheap. Some of the hangers have broken off so the choices are use the alternative mounts the PO has put on or weld on something more original.

Pm'd,

Also after running it for a little while the usual starter problem came back. As soon as it gets warm it wont start again until a while, after possibly cooling down. To be honest i'm getting pretty bored of all the issues now it never seems to end... :(

Patience my boy. You have come so far....

The head to manifold bolt is a pain, but it may be possible to helicoil it in situ. If the leak isn't too bad you could book it for a test...
and bring it here to swing the engine out.

The starter moptor fault means you need a recon starter...new brushes etc and a solenoid end cap usually costs about 45 quid at my little local guy.

PM me if you want to use the crane...or me to swing it out for you.

Jonners

Thanks Jon, just having a usual moan thats all. I will be in touch sometime soon when i decide what to do, i'm in the process of finding another exhaust so that it wont sound like a jet plane, least then i can check it properly again with less noise, then possibly drive it to you maybe...Guess i should do nothing with the starter until then, sort the both at the same time.

Thanks for the help again I will pm you Jon after i sort the exhaust.

Hey, yeah sorry been a bit busy...

Sorted quite a bit on the car, bought a falcon sports exhaust system and fitted 90% of it (just need to make a small bracket), fitted both bumpers, interior is mostly fitted, vinyl roofed it, bled the brakes and clutch.
Worked out that it would cost me £65+ vat to recon my starter at a place i've heard some bad reviews of, so i bought one already reconned on ebay for a bit extra but with postage. I fitted it and seems to have done the trick for now at least.

Had a look at the manifold bolt problem, for some reason i cannot remember i had two washers on the engine stabiliser end bolts so i managed to cut these in situ in the hope that the rest of the thread would catch. To my joy it tightened up but on running the engine it still sounds like i have a leak somewhere v near there. When i gave it a quick rev it seemed to pop/lightly backfire from the engine/manifold area, so maybe this is an indication of a leak?

Some pics. :) ...

Had some issues making/getting a headlining so i thought i'd use some of the heat reflective insulation stuff left over from the engine bay. I high temp glued it all and used it as a shaper & underlay for the interior vinyl. Best i could do with the money i haven't got.lol

Cheers, I still have to flatten and polish it all so it should look better after as it has a few scratches from the crappy cover...

The finishing trimming of the vinyl roof, I've never done one before so it was pretty cool to do, just some advice though don't try to do it when its windy.:x . I was going to do it with the original stitching bits at each side but i didn't trust myself with sewing that long, but i like the look of it without anyway..
I also made/sewed a new gearstick gaitor , also overlapped & stitched the bottoms of the vinyl outside quarters as i've not wanted to get the chrome strip at the bottom of the windows..
