I've bled brakes before on other cars doing the usual bleed the furthest away then work towards the cylinder but in the haynes manual it states to bleed the front then the only 1 at the rear, It seemed fine when testing the pedal pressure but i checked it with some slow back and forwards driving and it feels a bit soft. Guess il do it again and see if it improves. :(

Also before i fitted the gearbox casing i took the gearstick shaft out and degreased cleaned and re-greased the end and the gearbox selector bits too, which i think has helped with the problem I had with the gear selection.

Rev counter and the dash lights not working for some reason as yet, have to check when i get a chance.

I know that some others disagree with me, but I have long felt that black is far and away the best colour on a Dolomite shaped car. It shows curves that are just non existent on other colours, with the possible exceptions of Sapphire Blue and Mallard (which, funnily enough are the closest to black). The paintwork does indeed look fantastic and is a credit to you.

One day I will do a 1300FWD in black, with Matador Red interior.

One day.

Do I spy a cheeky black centre on the wheels there? You doing all that way?

Yeah i want to do all the wheels like that, that was a quick test on one of them to see what it looks like. I want to polish the rim as much as i can with a drill and some abrasive wheels and then paint the centre black, i love the look but the downside is it makes the wheels appear slightly smaller, which is unfortunate as they normally look so big on the sprint being 14s. I would have like to the the rim diamond cut but money is an issue as usual. :(

Thanks all for the paint comments, i think the pics make it look nice .8)

Thanks again. :)

When fitting the carpets up i used liquid shoe polish to re-blacken some parts, its also useful for other bits of trim that have lost there lustre too.
A few small bits i need to get now amongst others are a door seal, 2 or more window exterior seals at the bottom of glass where it meets door, if i can get these second hand in decent condition i will be happy.

Getting there! :)

I've since also fitted the seats and the lower dash and waxoiled inside/down the holes before fitting any carpet/trim etc .

I'l be back as soon as I can with more, promise it wont be as long as last time. :D

Regarding the wheels, I have seen people jack cars up, run the engine to spin the wheels and polish the rim as they go around. A cheap easy solution but may p1ss off your neighbours!

Cheers Phil. Not sure how happy I am to please the sexual appetites of eastern European men. . It is actually orange peel here and there but doesn't show in the pics. shame i had to rush it though as the engine bay is not as clean as i would have liked paintwise, would have loved to take my time and paint the whole shell complete with the doors off to get nice smooth paint inside too. Anyway its the best i could do with the time and people telling me everyday i had to be quicker. :(

Yeah Monty that sounds fun, had her running today and passers by on my quiet road were giving me looks like i was mad so i guess il have to do it the conventional way. :)
Few more pics again for now...
