Vacuumed LD this afternoon in readiness for Bromley, also put on the TDC rear windscreen sticker. She'll get a wash next weekend. Don't want to spoil her now.

Bit of an update, LD loped along nicely on the way to Bromley, happily cruising between 50 and 70 on the M25. Unfortunately, the way back to Martin's place after the show was a pain as the juddering on pulling away was getting silly. It was making the car a bit unplesant to drive to be honest. The general consensus was a clutch plate contaminated by oil perhaps. There was also a hissing noise when pressing the brake pedal just as I finished travelling through the Blackwall Tunnel (lots of stops and starts). I am unsure but this might be the servo??

Now LD's MOT is due at the end of July. My thoughts are thus:

- Garage LD

- Stick the FWD outside the house and do whatever is needed on it.

- Tackle LD's minor blemishes on the door bottoms and here and there

- Finish off painting where the sill was welded on

- Source and fit a replacement servo (or get mine refurbed if possible)

- Fit the new front shocks

- Shot blast and powder coat the SE wheels.

- Do the MOT thing (which will have expired by then).

- Save up for and buy a new clutch. Fit said clutch. Wave goodbye to the judders.

What do you reckon?

This would give me the chance to do things properly and make LD into a better car.

Oh wow, does it just start to pile on.

The windscreen washer stopped spraying, the motor was making the right noises, but nowt out of the jets. Took out the washer bottle to find it full of gunge. All cleaned out and looking like new again. I will buy some more plastic piping tomorrow and replace what's there. It's cheap and makes sense.

I am waiting for the replacement servo to arrive and then I can tackle the brakes. However, rather annoyingly the IGN light is glowing steadily now, but disappears when the revs rise. My already thin patience is becoming none existent, especially with that damn juddering. Falling out of love with LD methinks.

Replaced the now beautifully clean washer bottle, replaced all of the plastic piping to the washer jets and we have a lovely stream of water. The only thing is that one of the jets seems to have some damage as the stream isn't constant, it changes aim every couple of seconds. Very odd. If anyone has a spare then i would be very happy to give it a new home.

Hopefully the repalcement servo will arrive this week and I will also try and get another alternator. Deep joy.

Ken a blob of Araldite around the base of the jet where it enters the bracket will do the job.

Once it has set you can then aim the jet in the same way as before.
