In reguards to my spraying I will be using cellulose with a large compressor and and expensive gun. I didnt know it was illegal to spray outside!?!

It's a tricky subject and, like most legalities, there are a lot of grey areas... The way I understand it is it's not actually illegal if you're doing it on your own land. If it's a rented house, owned by the council, or on public accessible land, i.e. the roadside, a car park etc., it's illegal. Having said that, if the neighbours can smell it and they choose to complain then you have a problem even if it is your own property. The last thing you want is Health and Safety knocking on yor door when old Joe from 2 doors off starts blaming you for his asthma...
As it's Cellulose then it isn't as bad as 2pack so I would suggest you have a word with your neighbours and tell them when you're gonna be doing it and not to hang any washing out...!

Right then. Its been far too long and now its time for an update.

My bonnet is done and prepped ready for painting. This needed very little in the way of work. just the vent panel was rusty.

So thats that one down and ready for painting.
Then I thought Id have a go at my bootlid. Now I have done a bit of grinding and such around th eback so there was sparks taht had landed all over my boo tlid and then rusted. Balls. So I decided to strip all of the paint off just to make sure I got it all.


Now there were 3 bits of rust on the main surface of teh boot so I sanded them back as best i could then rust treated them. Then I used a ball pein hammer to dent the boot slightly and gave them all a skim of filler.




Then I put a coat of primer on it just to keep it protected a bit



And thats it for now.
Oh and I got the back pasenger door off


Hopefully will update a bit more often again now

Looks ike you are doing a grand job there Richard. Might be nice if you invested in a Frosts lead loading kit for about £30 instead of using filler. Much longer lasting and tons of fun. Suprisingly easy to use tbh, just be careful if using power tools to sand it down.

Yes, basically that is what it is. Also known as body solder. Used for many years until the body filler goo turned up. You will need a powerful hot air gun or a butane gas type flame gun and a wad of old denim to wipe away the heated solder. Plumbers lead is what is used now. Easy and quite cheap. The kit is good value IMHO.

mmmm alloy pump body - nice! Have you got the full Canleys lightening walletectomy? F & R plates, alternator bracket, dissy pedestal? Colour me green if so. Shame the alloy pumps & bellhousing are such a heart attack.
