Re: TDCIR 2009
Hi Team Tango, to keep our group on the lower car park (tarmac) we need to be no more than about 50 cars. Any more and we may have to park up on the grass area which, if the weather turns nasty, will be a bit slippy. I have also had a call from a couple of Stag owners who are keen to join in so, to date, don't know how many of them will turn up. So far, have had 24 responses from the forum (not including the 5 or 6 coming up from Plymouth). Have you any idea as to numbers of the Cortina group and I'll contact Haynes and see what they say.team tango wrote:hi all has any one got any objections to some of my friends in the mk1 cortina owners club coming to our little get together????????
Note for all forum viewers - keep an eye out for my TDCIR flyer being published in the next issue of DM. This has a small map and road directions in case anyone needs them.
Sorry been a bit slack in responding but computer was in need of a rebuild and didn't have a replacement.
77 days and counting!!!

Hi Yellow banana.
I have been somewhat amiss in not responding before but I wish to confirm that I will be coming to this years TDCIR. I will also be working on my daughter Claire to come up from Plymouth.
I have also be talking to a local 1500SE owner who is not a club member and he is keen to come along.
Regards
Richard

Re: TDCIR 2009
Hi all you dollymites,
Below is a link which gives you an aerial view of Haynes.
Leave the A303 at the Hazelgrove Roundabout and follow the signs for the A359 Galhampton or Castle Cary. After exiting the A303 follow the A350 (now called High Street). After about 1000 mtrs, at the junction with The Avenue, turn left and after a further 600 mtrs on your left is the entrance to the museum which is slightly set back (indicated by the blue bus sign on this link).
http://maps.google.co.uk/?ie=UTF8&ll=51 ... 6&t=h&z=19
I will be at the site from about 08:30 or shortly after and I will have a sign in a prominent position indicating which car park you will need to move to – depending on the numbers attending on the day. If less than 50 cars we will use the lower car park. If more than fifty we will be using the overspill park to the north of and behind the main complex.
Once inside, follow the directions:
(Less than 50) - Turn immediate left then, keeping to the left, arrive at the small car park in the lower left section of the museum grounds (this park has the pink, blue and white thingy!!)
(More than 50) – Turn immediate right, then follow the road alongside and round the length of the main building and then straight ahead to the entry gate.
Another sign will be in position at this gate.
Looking forward to seeing lots of you on the day. 69 days and counting!!

Talking about....
...Rare Breeds, does anyone know who has the yellow soft top Sprint that appeared at a TDCIR (or was it still called a SODIT) about three or so years back. It would be great to see him/the car at Haynes in September!! Also - there was another blue example which was highly controversial with the supporting brackets who attended a couple of shows just before this. YB

Hello Y.B
Expect a good 3 or 4 cars from the Oxfordshire area at TDCIR. Looking forward to it, great museum to visit.

Re: TDCIR 2009
Alas this years event is rather further away than I would ideally like to drive a non-o/d 1500HL so unless my Sprint gets sorted in the sill/chassis leg department I am unlikely to attend in either of my cars. However if I am free I might bring my Focus and park it in a corner somewhere.

Hi Yellow Banana.
I would like to suggest that you put something on the Dolomite Related board as I suspect some people who will be come for the day may not look at this board.

Does that mean some cars will be in a different car park than others, or if every one turns up who says they will and its over 50 then we will all be in the overspill car park?Yellow Banana wrote:depending on the numbers attending on the day. Hi Dave - No, we will all be in the same parking area. If, as I and a few others suspect, we get attendance from the Cortina owners plus a few Stags and we are more than 50 total we will probably be in the larger (grass) park. YB
