Right then, we appear to have a number of bodies, can we confirm what is happening?
Taking each car:
Tom's Sprint - Being transported by Micheal C - will it be transported there Saturday or Sunday? Can Tom and Micheal converse via PM, and let the rest of us know via this strand.
Toms Sprint is having the front re-fitted - Various elements of prep work are being carried out by Tom and Nathan prior to the event. I understand that new panels are being used, with the exception of the front wing. (note to self - go and get bumper irons from Mikes farm!)
Tom is also looking to change the rear doors for another pair - Is this feasible at the Show with the number of bodies we have? Answers on a postcard

16 valves Sprint thingy is the other car on the stand - What's planned for this, ie will it be bodywork,or mechanical.
I assume that Alun will be transporting this car to the show. Will it be arriving on Saturday or Sunday?

Bodies available include Mr Wilkes (the maestro of the MIG). As usual with welding, prep will be the big element of the work on Tom's car, and I would suggest that a couple of bodies are allocated to this vehicle (With Tom) to align/dry fit etc, getting Mr Wilkes approval to then allow him to weld.

Tools and Equipment
Mr Wilkes is bringing his MIG welder,
PBK is bringing his electric file, grinder, and compressor if required.
16 V will be bringing spanners etc
Tom will be bringing?????????

What else is needed? (Suggestions - Kettle, body clamps, joddler/punch, drills hammers (Various sizes))

Apologies for sounding like a bossy, grumpy Hector, but if we organise these things in advance, it'll be easier on the day.

Note to all,
I'll not be around until the afternoon due to family commitments, but of course, it'll mean that I can bring any additional required items if we need them.

PS I have a club banner at home already!

Will anyone be wanting anything specific from club spares for the stuff that's being done? I'm collecting stuff from Malc at some point so I can bring it with me.

I'd post this in the main section Dave. I can bring panelwork/steering racks etc if reqd.

The sprint thingy will arrive on Sunday AM

Tasks:

new brake pipes all round (any one have a flaring tool?), bleed brakes - may fit bias valve if I can find one
refit tranny tunnel after clutch bleed
connect choke cable
charge cooling system
fit fuel tank
fit exhaust
mucho welding (I will also bring MIG, grinder/cutter and fire extinguisher); boot floor, cill, front wings, front panel...its deteriorated since I first assessed it for reshell!

Yup, it's unlikely that I can attend but I can drop it off at Tony (Mig Wielder) and collect after if I recall his location correctly (Wokingham?)

Hi everyone

In response to Bruce's message:

I'm off to Nathan's tomorrow to strip off the panels and start to prep them up for fitting at the show.

I have been in contact with Mike re transport and this is in the process of being arranged. I will post when I know details.

I do have 2 replacement rear doors which are (I think) better than the ones on the car but by no means perfect. They could do with all the trim and windows stripping out and then attacking to see how much is filler or rust. I can bring them along as back up "stuff to do" in case there are folk twiddling thumbs, space dependent.

I have one of Aldi's best compressors with a selection of air tools which have never been used that I can bring along. Can we use 2 at once? If not then maybe you don't need to lug yours all the way up from London Ken?
I will bring a selection of spanners, sockets and screwdrivers and so on.
I've got a drill and a few bits, not sure how sharp they are though.
Extension lead?
I have yet another flaring tool I will bring along.

I don't really have any bodywork type tools as this is something I have never tackled before but will be eagerly learning on the day, so all the offers of this kind of stuff would be great please.

Again, thanks in advance for everyones help with my car.

See you all there

Hi Tom, that would be best I think, but I will have my compressor on standby if req'd.

I have plenty of disks for the DA, a knotted wire wheel for the grinder and stuff for the file.

Probably stating the bleeding obvious but what about:

Rust killer - Kurust is good, dries quick too
Filler
Acid etch primer
Seam sealer

Hi Ken

Hopefully Nathan or Bruce will pop to the shops with me before the event and give a little guidance on the paint and consumable stuff. Having not done this before I've no idea what's good or how much of it we'll need. When I've got it I'll post a list here and people can suggest extras.
