That sounds like a solution, can you get photos of the aerial fitting as well please

Hi, took some pics today. I can't see the aerial in the pics of the TR6 but I've included a photo anyway as I love it and like to show it off (even though the car went 6 years ago now ).

just to add, the aerial was fitted the the front of the off side chassis leg and sat just below the front airfilter.

Does any one have the fitting that is needed so I can put a radio under the vents where is should go please. please, I went to halfords and might as well spoke in chinese, the boy said whats a triumph dolomite, .....

The Halfords one needs to be cut short and fitted upside-down, perhaps it's because it's a generic one that they don't associate it with the car when asked?

I have a Halfords one that you can have, but you'll need to cut it yourself. I'll offer it up to the one in the car and mark where it needs to be cut and at what angle.

Slightly stronger and more likely to survive the post than the Triumph original, probably £5.60 by special D, but I'd need to check as I generally use Parcelforce now and their minimum charge is much higher than RM for that size of package.

My Halfords one fitted perfectly and without cutting! It's mounted upside-down, as it is meant to be an under-dash fitting for a Mini or something

I'm pretty sure that I also have a spare "crinkle finish metal" genuine early BL radio housing somewhere in the loft.
The speaker goes in the hole on top of the dash.

I have one of these black crinkle-finish, sheet-steel radio housings, which originated from my 1974 Triumph Toledo, which included a Radiomobile two-band mono radio and speaker. Having substituted a Triumph Dolomite HL dashboard into my Toledo, it's surplus to my needs.

Have bought one of these surrounds and brackets (an original) from tin weevil for the cars original 8 track...it was fitted at the dealer under the glovebox but I was going to put it in the centre under the vent but seen as my ones still uncut I'm just going to leave it where it is under the dash but I plan to use the surround to tidy it up a bit..can't cut the dash!!
