Nay, 'tis but a hop & skip from Nottingham, just down the M42. Half an hour or so at speed
...but then when I was at University, Nottingham purported to have an 8:1 ratio of bird students to bloke students...maybe you'll be pre-occupied

Do any of you who are going to the meet on the 9th of Sept have a rear parcel shelf going spare?

I'll still be going if I can get my rear axle sorted out. One of the tie bar brackets has sheared. Not too surprising as the axle was originally off my '74 Toledo.

Afraid I'll have to give it a miss this year, I'm off to France next week for a fortnight. Working but with a long weekend in Paris in the middle.
Hope it's a good turnout and you all enjoy the day.

Yes,
The Oxford meet is planned for the Bog Museum again this year. Time to be arranged.
Not sure about the bacon sarnie opportunities at this stage.

As a newbie what can I expect in terms of.......:
1) what time people arrive and how long they stay
2) friendly people to come and poke around my new purchase and give me advice, and perhaps fettle the engine!
3) things to blow my cash on
4) number of cars
Me and the wife will be coming, not really sure how easy it will be to "fit in"................

It's a lovely and relaxed event. Most people do tend to arrive for the start, but people do come and go throughout the day. There are loads of friendly people in the club, and we all do like to have a nose around other people's cars, and it's always fun matching forum names to real people.
Rimmer Bros. are bringing a van, and IIRC they usually bring a good selection of parts to buy, as well as things that people have ordered to collect. Mick Dolphin also usually comes with a load of stuff, and the club will have its panels and parts available to buy. Lots of other members bring things to sell and swap too.
