I have been reading this thread with great interest and I'd take 3 of these blocks. How are things progressing? Is there enough to get started?
Would it help if everyone confirmed their numbers?

Just to say that when comparing a Ford Pinto block with the Sprint block it is easy to see why the Ford would not break as all the mains webs are solid and thick. The Triumph has holes and is thinner in the web, quite simply it would have cost very little to rectify at foundry level but no doubt the bean counters struck here too.
It is sad seein a good idea ruined by penny pinching.

If there is enough interest, I will start the process of manufacturing new blocks. The cost of the complete process is likely to be around £30,000. I would need firm orders and deposits for at least 10 blocks before I start. Blocks will hopefully sell at around £1750 to £2000 each.
You can see that no profit will be made until at least 15 blocks are sold. The more orders I get, the cheaper the cost.
I have an original thick wall block in a race car now, it has on occasion seen circa 10,000 revs/min with no signs of the damage you get at 7,500 on a standard block.
These blocks are very suitable for all road and race Dolly sprints and it is envisage they will allow power outputs of over 250 bhp. The one running at present is producing 250+ now.

Can I suggest that this idea is also publicised in TR7 and maybe even Stag circles?
The idea of a Stag block but to motorsport spec casting wise would surely be appealing to Stag owners too, who seem to have deeper pockets....
There must be a market for 20-30 of these surely?

Long shot I know...but would you consider casting in aluminium?Save a lot of weight and could help out the head gasket by reducing the difference in expansion.

If you start taking orders Ken let me know, as I will have one or maybe two providing funds allow at the time. What sort of deposit would you be talking?
