About a month Mart. I've had some problems with the paint bubbling from when it was originally sprayed about 5 months ago. It was reacting with the old paint where they hadn't rubbed it all off. So she's been back in to have it stripped and re-done. But this time down to bare metal. I paid alot so i wanted a pristine job doing. I take it they have probably made a loss on this now. But i'm :clapping: :D

which is a 77 colour. I have an S reg 1300 and know of a certain Sprint thats that colour. It looks very similar to pimento, kind of halfway between that and Vermillion for orange-ness...
Vermillion I dont think was available at R reg was it? Mine is a V and I know of a T or 2 but nothing earlier.
Hope its a good job.

Spot on Jonners

Pimento to about late 74 early 75/77 depending upon build date and reg date

Flamenco about 77 to 78 depending upon build date and reg date

Vermillion 78 on, you might find an ealry one on a S like Marts

Red 'morphed' to Orange as time pressed on, someone was obvioiusly tangoed in the colour department at BL Cars

Flamenco Sprint, now that is a rare sight these days, I've owned both Pimento and Flamenco Sprints.

Now that's interesting Malc. The advert for SFB (was on the TDC website) stated it as being Flamenco, the PO always called it Flamenco and I came across a tin of paint with Flamenco written on it. So maybe SFB is Flamenco & not Vermillian. So what's the difference is Flamenco more orangey or less? I'll have to look out the chassis plate.

It's my sprint thats flamenco that jons mentioned (on a 77) it's currently at jons mates garage (gary) just awaiting a few final touches before i re-submit it for it's Mot (failed on a few bits but not to bad) ,the paint code should be cad for flamenco,so are there any other known sprints in this colour still surviving ? heres a pic of my car i took in the summer. before the new inner wing and chassis rail where fitted.

Yes it is pimento, colour number 72, which is its original colour.

Well I'm glad that's sorted, I thought my Sprint project car was Vermillion but thanks to this thread (and Alun for bringing it to my attention) it is in fact Flamenco. Since I'm fixing to get the paintwork 'freshened up' in the near future it's nice to know I'll be asking for the right colour :)

Mart

Flamenco is not as 'Orange' as Vermillion. Flamenco is actually a very nice colour, a bit more subtle than Postman Pat red

Best check you colour code Mart before your man loads his gun, mind you, with a full paint job, you can have any clour you want of course.

SFB = Swift F****** Build, you don't hang around do you.

Lest anyone gets offended, personally, I quite like Vermillion, not my first choice, but quite like it, prefer Flamenco though

Thats two of us then that have flamenco sprints ,rimmers are selling the aerosols for only £2.53 at the moment in this colour so grab some while they still have them.

Went to see how SFB was coming along, today. They've done quite a bit of prep work & it should be ready for spraying sometime next week. I had to acquire another front passenger door as, although mine looked OK to me, Tony the sprayer wasn't happy with it. I'm definitely going to have it sprayed Flamenco. I've seen the sample strips & Flamenco is much nearer red than orange. Still can't find the bloody chassis plate.

I took a few snaps whilst I was there.

Down at the "Speddy Gonzalis" Bodyshop they have evidently got your flair for "Swift Progress" and there was me thinking you'd put it in for some 'free' winter storage whilst you sorted out the rest of the gear and returned 'track day' to the shelter of the garage.

Good choice on Flamenco Mart, it will look really nice with the folding fabric roof, make sure you use balck coachline though. To avoid upsetting the Tango Club, nowt wrong with Vermillion but Flamenco is a really nice colour, having owned both Pimento and Flamenco in the past I think Flamenco is posiibly the nicest of the 'Red' spectrum in our shades.
