Hi all,

I managed to get an NOS chain tensioner off of eBay with the larger oil feed and dowel and the Allen key tensioner part. I think it must be a slightly different part to the sprint one though as the main shaft on the tensioner/plunger section is about 1mm shorter than the old one I've taken off, also the spring was a fair bit shorter than what it should be according to the workshop manual. I can use the spring from another one I have but I'm a little concerned about the length of the plunger so thought I'd check here before fitting.

What do people think? Is this likely to cause any problems? I guess once the chain has got really slack it could potentially mean that the tensioner could pop out but this seems fairly unlikely I would have thought?

As always any advice would be great.

Cheers
Chris

1mm shorter is going to make no difference.
If you the body with the removable plug away from the chain through which you insert an Alen key to unlock the ratchet
then you have the right one. Use the spring it came with.
