welding a thick washer would be a decent repair (it would be a pre-made repair section essentially), yes you could swap subframes if you have one available, but welded repairs are fine. I suspect the vast majority of these cars have had welding done, and none the worse for it. Try not to get to hung up on little stuff, keeping the car going is the most important thing.

The washer that sits under the bolt head is perfect for the job!

To the above the short answer is no...
I have had to make the decision to leave the Toledo over the winter and come back to it when Spring has sprung for a myriad of reasons!
Fear not though, this car will (hopefully!) see the road again in 2016...

Spring will be just round the corner anyway and what better time to enjoy your Toledo again, it will give you a wee while to think over the best course of action for the car - all the best with it when the time comes
