Kind of Ian, it turns out I haven't got a blank bypass tube fitted which i knew nothing about, only the normal one, and I've also got a bottom entry plastic expansion tank coming, so when they're fitted, I'll let you know!

It's on going shall we say!

I can't do much now as all my bits haven't arrived (with it being the bank holiday), I'm working away during the week and next weekend I'm in Glasgow all weekend watching Hue & Cry, so a bit strapped for time!

Will keep you posted! :)
Come and see some pretty shoddy, slow driving of a really well prepared competition Sprint here!

I fitted core plugs into the inlet manifold and water pump cover so I could do away with the (obsolete) bypass tube.
Doing this permitted the inlet manifold to be attached to the head using studs,
which makes fitting somewhat easier :) .

Hue and Cry? Yes I do vaguely remember them from the 80s or was it the 90s?

Ian, they had a few minor hits in the 1980s. I was listening to "Labour of Love" in the car today.
