It works fine but the original one I bought never worked and they replaced it no problem after I went through some checks with him over the phone. I carry a built up spare dizzy with points just in case though.

Yes, he's always been very helpful when i've had a query and the one time I did have a problem, (the manetic ring that fits on the dizzy cam was loose, 72 Triumph 2000) I rang him up and he dispatched 2 different ones immediately, with instructions to relieve this one with a craft knife if it was too tight (the second was in case I screwed up the first one) they arrived within 20 hours of the phone call! The service and technical backup is why I use him!

Final, final update - after a couple of days with the points fitted the car starts and drives well. As I do miss not having to check the points I decided to fit this amplifier which is supposed to save on the points burning and to take up the slack from wear and tear. The thing is, without the amplifier, the new Lucas coil was hardly warm to the touch after driving. After fitting the amplifier and driving the same distance, the coil is noticeably warmer ( but not hot). Having said that, the old Lumenition coil (+ magnetronic module) was scalding after just a few minutes.
