ooooh. I think this looks nice!

Am I correct in saying that you have also fitted headlights as opposed to the sealed candles? If so, good job!!

Back mudflaps are VERY tidily fitted!! How exactly may I ask, as I have an identical set and will be fitting them very shortly.

Also, I have a set for the front but they are those rimmers things whings which are not great, so if anyone has a spare set like threeambrosias car has then give me a pm!!

Sterling work!! :)

Well done mate. Looking fantastic as it is. As others have said this will be amazing when completed. All credit to you.

Have you done anything to LWT?

those electric window controls look quite fiddly to install. Can you run through what exactly is happening there TC ? It looks like a beefy motor is driving a shaft, through some reduction gearing, to the normal window winder ? Where did you get the gear from ?

The door lock solenoids are hidden inside the door shell ? I can see where the rear lock solenoid rod has been attached to the horizontal rod, which is the way the ones I have got work.

mate this is great to see, fantastic pics and an awesome job, many thanks.

Many thanks for positive comments,

Yellow mitch; yes headlights are Jaguar, fitted with 100w bulbs ! Original BL rear mudflaps don't fit, what I did was fitted outer edge to arch lip then cut mudflap until it fitted, as they came (in original BL bag) they just dont fit.

SVG111K; Polybushes from Rimmers

Ken; you can see LWT parked in background, its still my daily runner, its never needed anything doing - yet.

Straylight; e/windows quite easy to install, the hard part was fitting the rubber tubes to the pillars for the wires. Its a "universal" kit with a flexible cable drive, adaptors fit over original winder shaft which I cut down so it wont protrude through door trim. They wind up & down quite quick. Lock solenoid is mounted horizontaly & hidden in rear doors, in front its vertical & just visible in photos.

I'm impressed, I think it is going to be another stunner in the making there.

Is that the original supplying dealers sticker in the rear window?

thanks TC. Another item on the wish list. Solenoid door locks are a go, I'll start looking for winder kits.

where did you mount the controls ? I think using the ash-tray space might work.

<edit> found some....

look like the ones you used, initial reaction was $250 (inc post) was expensive, but in the overall scheme of things, reasonable....

How did you get on fitting the carpets as they are the non moulded type.

Looks great though keep it up.

VYO372M; yes thats the remains of the supplying dealers sticker, so I'll try to preserve it!

Straylight; thats the same kit as mine, just a different name on the packageing. Mine came off e-bay uk for £65. I was going to door mount the control panel switches but the loom is thick on drivers door. So I'm thinking of mounting them in leading edge of gearlever tray. On the rear doors I'm mounting switches over holes left by winders. I'm working on solenoid boot release now, I'll post pic of mechanism when completed.

SprintMWU773V; Carpets fitted well, had to trim a bit around pedals. Carpet came from Rimmers along with thick underlay.

thanks TC....I've been given the green light to get the winders and a "spacekey" remote from the same seller. I already have the lock actuators, which I've just bench tested with a 12V battery. -ve trigger :D

Very interested to see how you are going to do the boot release. I have a spare set of actuators, thinking about taking one of them (rear type) and setting it up to an internal trigger switch.

You worked out the mounting details and cut the holes in the doors before painting the door ?

Bonus to fitting the 'lectric winder is you'll never have to worry about taking that little pin out of the winder handle again. Gets easy with practice I guess ! How are you going to cover up the hole in the door card where the winder shaft would have come through ? Will the lack of support for the door card due to the missing spring be a problem ?

Even my wife was impressed with your car ! (and she's not a fan of the dolomites)

cheers, fantastic work. Love it.

Stu, here's a pic of boot release. I used a Ford tailgate opener solenoid, all you have to do is weld a lug on to Dolly mechanism for rod to attach to.
