Sorry guys, no track sessions left (well only a few at 4:45), I did warn you! So anyone who was going to send money to me, don't. You may be able to get some on the day if people return them due to breakdowns or not passing the noise restrictions etc.
We may still be able to have a club stand if they can find space & hopefully get a few free admiission passes.

We now have a space reserved for our club stand. It is situated at Camp corner. I have 8 free admission passes (cost £10 on the day) so if anyone definately wants to attend, PM me your address & I'll post a pass off. I will probably drive my track Sprint up as I need to put some miles on the engine, but alas, it will have to watch from the sidelines.
The event is this coming Saturday (19th).

My passes have arrived Mart.
Probably be a bit of midnight oil burnt this week sorting a few small bits out. I'll hopefully be arriving about 10-10.30 in the morning. I deliberately booked my first session for 12.15 so I don't have the mad rush I did last time. I take it from the circuit map that the Club stand will be roughly where the Saab boys were last time around.
I'll PM you my mobile in case of any problems.

Well it was cold wet & miserable, but still!
Martin's Tolly went pretty well but in those conditions you can't push it to the limits. I did video Martin on track so I'll have a look to see if it came out OK.
I did enjoy watching the 2 drifting sessions.

As ever, Mart is a master of understatement.
It was bleeding 'orrible - ice cold almost baltic wind, sideways rain and appalling visiblilty. Oh, and so many 'offs' because of the above facts that the track quickly acquired a nice coating of mud and slime, as well as oil from some kind soul who dropped it in the early sessions.
I was pleased with the performance of the 16V Toledo, which out dragged some quite highly souped machinery. However the conditions, as Mart says, precluded any real full use of the throttle. That however, did not stop me spinning twice in my first session

, and establishing that the car is happy at some very crazy angles to the direction of forward motion.....
By the second session the weather had deteriorated further (if that's possible), and discretion became the better part of valour. I skipped the third and fourth sessions as it was by then frankly an exercise in hanging on, which was not enjoyable in any way.
I have just about thawed out now. Like Mart says, some nice machinery there, and that MkII Escort drifting was something else. Overall though, the ruinous weather did it no favours. Roll on the next one.

Well what a day! Diane had one session that was only very bad weather.
I only had one session and as we waited with Martins Vauxtoledo at the front with a Saab with all racing decals between us the heavens just dumped sheets of water on the track.
The Saab was not too difficult to pass and my video was having trouble picking out Martin as we closed in on him but great care had to be taken cos it would be a tragedy if two Triumphs came together! After we had passed Martin we had a little wait before we were overtaken by the quick boys and the best for me was a Mexico Escort which was more sideways than forwards.
All in all a day I would rather have not attended.

Thinking about it though I have a couple of observations, one is my little wife Diane, I reckon she did bloody well going out on track with a bunch of testosteroned males in lethal conditions, and reminded me of when we went to Corfu and picked up our hire car, she grabbed the keys and drove on what to us is the wrong side of the road in rush hour with a load of nutty Greeks, very impressive.
How many women would do this?
