Yea i am going to do a light sensor panel in the near future i will definatly be using that one.
I hope this has been of some use to everyone as a good modification.
Thankyou to Jon AKA Trackerjack for his help and knowledge.

Glad your solving the problems and pleased you thought I was useful.
Just as an observation, I wonder how many sprint engines have been destroyed by incorrect setting of the water pump and its cover. Not enough will graunch the whole pump and too much results in too much skew gear play and resultant destruction of jackshaft, it shows that these engines need caring mechanics to look after them.

For a track car you may need one of these
Plumbed into the top hose
And then the small pipe back to the header tank to remove bubbles

I also have a oil pressure gauge plumbed into the header tank
This runs at the cap pressure and can tell u if you have a leak as the pressure goes down
Or if your head gasket is starting to go as the pressure rises dramaticaly,

I think i have the gap bang on, im pretty sure that is what was helping my heating problem. And maybe an airlock.
But i remember i got the big tempratures when i tightend the manifold and waterpump bolts up.
This modification is definatly worth while.
I was on the Motorway the other day and i had been scooting along for a while and i hit some traffic and the temprature came up to the half way mark and i was idling in that for about half a hour or so and then when i took off it came a good 2 needles below halfway. Mechanical fan will always be a better fan on this car as the electric ones can not be bracketed further enough away from the radiator to have decent flow of air.
Well it can be, but is not worth it over a mechanical.
Again as i said in my build post.
If your sprint is overheating or running to hot, there is a problem somewhere, im glad i found and fixed the problem!
Darren
On another forum they have suggested doing this also.
I think i was use some ali tube between the radiator top hose and thermo cover and put a sensor in there.
What gauge do you use?
Forums are great, thanks for your help and support.

The gauge i use is a raceteck oil pressure its a NON electrical one
I have it plumbed into the header tank
Its the one on the left of the fuel gauge
Very good addition as it will tell u well in advance of head gasket failure or coolant loss unlike the normal signs that show up to late,,
Had this set up on a cosworth track car and the Driver noticed a change in pressure to the norm came into the pits we checked the torque of the head and found one of the stretch bolts had lost a bit of torque ,

My car was always good as gold on the road........but just 3 laps of a normal 2 mile race track had the temp soaring, that in itself is not too bad, then when you go out again (if you have not topped up with water) you sometimes found that an airlock had formed with huge temp rise. I am a fan of the original 6 blade pump and I personally think that the meddling of it by increasing the vanes to 12 was an ill thought out change because if space is taken up by more vanes it means less room for water, plus at high revs I think they cavitate and put air bubbles in the system.
As DF says that bottle is just the ticket as I know Cossies had a lot of water troubles as they were developed (develop is a word alien to BL, who just left things)

Would that work on a roadlegal Sprint (lightly tuned but not alien to airlocks after heavy use) or is it overkill ? I quite like the look of it.
And if so, which top hose should it go into ?

I dont suppose anyone has done a physical diagram of the cooling system, just so I could see how its laid out,

Good suggestion, I used the forum search facility and found the following picture from another thread:
