One of the reasons ive done this is as I want to fit air conditioning .
Nothing worse on a track day than sweating your T**S off

Don't forget about the extra weight. The compressor alone must a couple of kilos.

It may be a no go as the dry sump pump is in the way !!!
And with this new type on inlet plenum I cannot move the pump up high enough
Need to do some head scratching
I wonder if I can run it off the prop shaft suitably geared ??? Mmm

I reckon a man of your ability could work out a way of running the aircon compressor from a butchered electro-hydraulic power steering pump motor such as that found in the Saxo / 106 or Astra / Zafira etc....?

I assume you mean gear it down, not up ? :wink:

I've seen a alternator running off a propshaft, It was on a Triumph 2000 mk1 race car IIRC

Ford Transit 2.5di run a vacuum pump off the rear of the alternator via a splined output shaft.

Could you both things off one pulley that way?

yes but would need a 160 amp alternator to run just that one thing...
