I'm sure the CIA; MI5/6 and the like would be interested in the Castle Combe action day driver wrist bands - It seems; 'some' go to the briefing and get very clear instructions on 'dos' & 'don'ts'; then, as soon as they have their driver wrist bands fitted, their memory is completely wiped :evil:

Yes Chris, especially the overtake only on the right and some clowns crawl round on the right so technically you cannot overtake :roll: Oh well there is always the grass!

Tanks for this video. I will bookmark it.
You won't go that fast, a 1/3 of this would be already pretty good, but again, study this video and learn the line, apex and exit, it WILL help.

No overtaking allowed, try to get in front of the line, or at some point create a gap til the guy in front of you, you probable could have a open 1/2 a lap or so.

If only !.... I don't think my brain would be able to keep up. That is quite literally twice the speed of my laps - Perhaps if I could view it at half speed, I would be able to do a direct comparison :idea: At least I would see how far off line I was :roll:

A couple of clear laps is fine; but, it gets a bit 'lonely' and boring when you've nothing to chase (even if you've no hope of catching them !), and it doesn't make for very interesting viewing... Evidence:-

Nice video, 2' lap even better revs as well. I know down shifting is sometimes a pain with these GB. In that respect the wide ratio box works prety good with 3'od acting as a proper gear.
Than you use 3' 3'od and 4' often with a 4.1 in the back. Spa 3.9 Zolder 4.3 keeps you always between 5 and 7.5 exeptions on both side of cours.
No LSD??

When I had a V8 MGBGT I was trying to get past a BMW528i and every straight at Goodwood he was as fast as me but I was better in the corners :roll: suddenly it dawned on me that on his worst slowest corner I had to hang back and storm it to pass him just after :D he quickly disappeared from my rear mirror view.
Because track days are fun and not racing I hate an empty track I love a good scrap.
These days I am more impatient :oops:

Cam cover revealed nothing untoward to cause the rattle, poor compression on 1&2 but equal, better on 3&4 and equal but not what you'd expect from a rebuilt engine with only a few hundred miles on it.

Retorqued (ARP studs), exhaust side quite slack, most taking best part of half a turn.

Head off this weekend coming...

19 March still booked for rolling road...

Right then:

Brake m/c sorted;
Exhaust fixed (properly, this time... if it breaks again, I'm going to weld the b4st4rd !);
Wheel bearing replaced;
Battery replaced;
Every nut and bolt (that I could reach) has been checked/tightened;
Been up and down the back lane a good few times to loosen her up and 'clean' the brakes;
As far as I can tell - she's pretty much ready to go...... We'll see if the MoT man agrees on Tuesday... [-o<
