Thank you all for your kind comments, organising SDD is not an easy task and next year
SDD will be a different venue as every year we have moved around the area.
next year we will be looking at going towards the Dorset area, any suggestions on venues or offers to help out will be welcome.

If you fancy stretching it a few more miles what about the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton in Somerset? Unless you had enough of aircraft at Middle Wallop!! (And if you've thoroughly had it with aircraft - there's always the Haynes Motor Museum a mile or so back on the A303!)

We will try for something different next year, Haynes was last year (TDCIR which was also SDD)
We have been to the living life museum in Basingstoke and Atwell motor museum in Calne for SDD's in the past few years.
I will be seeing James this week so will ask if he has any ideas.

No probs. Used to live in the area a few years back (Weymouth) but not sure of what attractions are there any more.

How about these

Tank Museum, Bovington.
Bournemouth Aviation Museum, Hurn.
both do have classic car events
also
Royal Signals Museum, Blandford
Monkey World, Bovington.
Not sure wether the above have classic car events but could be interesting venues.

If you need some help with next years SDD let me know.

The tank museum had a classic car show the same day as SDD, monkey world does have the room!
Will look into the other suggestions.

Because we would have to pay to use their show area.

Doesn't the club have a fund for this sort of thing though?

possibly but my view is why pay someone to use their areana whe we can get somewhere else for free, the lilmited club funds would be better off being spent on parts/ panels to keep our cars on the road (so we can get to the free events!)?

I had similar with trying to get an ice cream van to SDD, most of them wanted paying to turn up so they could sell their icecreams!

Date has been confirmed as Sept 4th, James will post more details on a new thread at a later date.

Due to TDCIR being on the same day the TDC comittee has said they will not apprrove this as an official club meet
James contacted the museum wth a view to change the date but they were unable to do any other dates so he now trying hard to find another venue on a different date but he has been a busy boy lately with work comitments.
I spoke to James yesterday and he will soon have internet access so will update with any news as soon as possible.
