Now there I do agree...
the E36 coupe is among the best of the beemers and while I like the 840 and current 6 series too I think Beemers
have gone down hil starting with the E39. What a minger that 5 series GT is....saw one yesterday....yuck.

Not really that Ugly but I just saw my first SLS walking round mayfair for lunch as you do...funny doors on that.
Trip over Bentleys etc with the jack barclay garage next door. they arent exaclty oil paintings either. The Aston in the car park looks a LOT better.

Also get the chance to compare a panamera and a masser quatroporte in the car park too,.The Masser walks it for style. Gorgeous.

I must walk past you four or five times a day Jon......

I seem to spend half my life in Mayfair, hence we are soon to move offices there as we are all fed up with the Jubilee Line. That Berkeley Square/Bruton Street triangle is my stamping ground.

New Rolls Ghost is a very elegant car without the "in yer face" Hindenburg proportions of the Phantom.

Sorry, did swerve slightly off-topic. The Growfungus is a pet-hate of mine, largely because of the problems i had with them. The 1.6 HDi is a slightly different animal in as much as it has a livelier engine and is slightly better looking. The large glass area in the Multispace (i think it's called) also improves it's looks somewhat but i'd still never call it pretty!

As for the newer BMWs and Mercs, they all seem to have lost the plot between the drawing board and production. If they haven't then their designers need to stop taking whatever drugs they're on!! They used to be stylish, good looking cars!

Surely this creation is a contender?

No doubt the "lots of attention it gets wherever it goes" is due to folk throwing up....

Not sure i'd call it ugly, more unusual! I've heard of all sorts of body shells being grafted on to the RR chassis, this is just a Jag E-Type look-a-like kit body shell so his claim of a classic car that's also a 4x4 is a bit misleading!

Got me thinking about a different sort of classic car though . . . . . .

Looks like one of those fancy cigar tubes (that used to be behind the bar in pubs) on wheels! You know the ones? They would pop the lid (back end of this "car") and shake out a cigar or 3. Or maybe one of those equally fancy fishing knife sheaths.

Certainly a novel idea fitting the tail lamps in the end of the tail pipes! Was it originally a V8 or have the pipes always been just for show?

Not sure it's ugly as such, i think its novelty value lends it some sort of appeal. Not sure how safe it is though - reckon it looks about as safe as a one legged blind person with St Vitus Dance doing a tight rope walk over the Grand Canyon!

As safe as that? Really?
Still, seeing the pictures of the thing has reminded me that I've to put my bin out tonight.

I'd roll that.

Only so that I didn't have to look at it anymore.

Don't forget to remove your cordless drill from it afterwards though!

Just been watching the Youtube vid for those swing bin racers. Is it me or does it appear that the wheels aren't actually turning, yet the cars are moving?

Most odd. :?
