Re: 1979 Dolomite 1300 New proud owner! :D
My thoughts on the black interior and seats was to use second hand standard black dolomite ones to contrast with the blue.A lot of members on the forum are just as happy to look at a well turned out 1300 as they are a Sprint we value all of the range here

Re: 1979 Dolomite 1300 New proud owner! :D
nope i don't mind what people think as i do have a tendency to "jump in feet first" to most things
But having been outside for over an hour with a toothbrush and hot water, cleaning up the engine a little, i have decided that yeah, your right.... preserve what you can,and don't jump to anything. i will be keeping the original square lamps. as for the interior... that won't be done for a year at the earliest. - but a nice stainless steel exhaust and alloy rocker cover,as the few final touches when its had the other bits done, eg front wings need doing regardless, the rear passenger door and the odd shopping trolley dent and odd bit of rust, once i have it to that stage, il leave it as it is
- stainless steel exhaust, so it looks smarter and sounds better, but also,as it dosen't rust
(or as quick as a standard part) and alloy rocker cover, just to add a little bit of shine under the bonnet.
Thanks though fella's

the passenger side front wing, has gone from 3-4 inch from the headlight (on top, round the side and underneath) - the rear lower section below the lower swage line. and the frontlower section from where it curves round to where it joins the lower valance. all soft and rotten (the lower rear section (where it meets the sill, gone eg, rotten and fallen off about 4-5 inch from the bottom of the wing.
ill take some pics to show in more detail tomorrow
and the drivers wing, does have a small-ish dent which could probably knocked back out. but the wing has been fitted badly - the top section of the wing where it meets the lower section of the windscreen panel has a 1-2inch gap (and has a 1-2 inch gap between the wing and the door (my guess is that the metal may have shrunk when it was welded in place or something again il take some pics tomorrow.
ill take some pics of all the little dings and so on see what you guys think i should do... my plans are to just sort and fill any minor dings and scratches and sort out what needs sorting.
as for the engine exploding at 70mph... it wouldn't be touching 70 very often... lol maybe once in 3 months at the most! just wondered at the time we brought it back home,if their was something wrong with the car... but nope its just us... used to new cars... with sound proofing etc
would the oil light on my dash light up if was ever to blow up? - wouldn't want to blow it up
... anyway... after tomorrow when ive uploaded some pics.. i won't be uploading any for sometime il be uploading some pics when the car is done and sorted
- might not be for a few months... promise everyone here will like it
Thanks guys
