Walking through an area I've never visited before on my way to a training course this morning a stunning original Fiat 500 went by, I wasn't quick enough with the camera. The course finished early so I headed back to the office down the M4 towards Bracknell. Hows this for a coincidence?

Spotted a Healey 3000 which wasn't, it was 100/6 but it wasn't that either. guy came along and told me it was 100/6 but all aluminium body work, think it was 100B, to be honest I had lost interest once he told me it was for sale at £80,000. yeah 80 thousand. Seems its rare, but he drives around Looe, Cornwall on sunny days. He has another one hid away nearby. Made my Dolly sprint kit car look and sound pretty ordinary. Oh well,one day...............

Could have sworn the reg. number was KRW307K but no trace on DVLA .

SVC 262R was my first ever car,a bright yellow Renault 12 TL saloon.Felt quite quick in a straight line but fell over with massive understeer at every sharp corner :lol:

Yes they're one of those cars that there used to be at least one down every street when I was a nipper.

I came across this island registered example last year;

and this one a couple of weeks back at a local car show;

asides from that...where did they all go? :shrug:

Not a fresh spot, but my own R12 estate with G17 engine, Trafic 5-speed gearbox, Fuégo (struts) front suspension to get around both the massive understeer and the softness of the original wishbone setup, sump guard taken from a scrap Dacia 1310 estate in a scrapyard near work, G17 discs and calipers, G12 console, carpets & dashboard and the ability to travel at a genuine 117mph. Fortunately, the polis who caught me doing just that on the Ring Road just by Pudsey (not half a mile from the West Yorkshire Met's HQ :oops: ) assumed that his equipment was faulty so did me for 90mph instead. :lol:
One of two 12 Estates that I've owned, here 'tis:

To the present; is it just me or have the high 70s temperatures been bringing them out these past couple of days? Loads of old cars around, many, including a splendid 1948ish Triumph Roadster, turned out in hood-down style. Nice. 8)

Two Stags, two TR6s, a Renault 20 and an unmolested R5 GT Turbo out today.

Obviously the two Renaults - what with being old and French - are about to become money pits and should be put through the auctions ASAP and replaced with something modern and Japanese, for thus it is written.

Yes, Friday always brings them out ! Todays's top spots were another (different) nice MGB in dark green , hood down(naturally) in Bracknell and 2 minutes later a nice black Austin A50 . Now I haven't seen one of those since Peterborough ! It was worth getting out of bed just for that :D

Had a tip off about a Dolomite 1300 with a uncertain future, so popped over to have a look;

Shame, good car with all the rusty bits taken care of. However, there was no one at home so I didn't get very far. :(

On route I followed this Lotus Elan;

Stopped off for a photo opportunity when I spotted this Mustang Fastback;

Only spotted one car today, and didn't have to leave the house for the spot:

Hub bearing required a 30 ton effort to fit, but done now and the axle's as quiet as the proverbial ecclesiastical rodent, paint is a temporary job for the last few shows of the season but demonstrates that Sienna from http://www.paints4u.com/ is a match and that Martin Thaddeus' technique (piece on painting cellulose from rattle cans in the October Practical Classics) works well. Just the trailing edge of the boot lid to strip and repaint and the sill strips to attach (I couldn't find the Bresco clips today :oops: ) and that'll be done for now, though the whole car will be receiving a fresh coat of paint once the shows are out of the way for the year.
I think I'm allowed to post that pictures here 'cos he's not my car! Not now. :( :wink:

Its a Renault 12 Jim - but not as we know it!

My father in law's old car. He only got rid of it this summer, traded it in for a brand new Dacia Logan!
