I liked the old Astras but admit to feeling cheated when I looked at a car in NZ advertised as a Pontiac Le Mans and found something similar to this http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-ca ... 160273.htm I'd imagined some American powerhouse and was somewhat disappointed. The big Falcon I bought instead was far more satisfying :)

...and a wee bit later found this Austin A40 parked by the road with a for sale notice in the screen;

I believe it's a Somerset but am prepared to be corrected!

It is indeed a Somerset. :eyes4u: :eyes4u: :eyes4u: :eyes4u: Can I want two cars in a single day please? That Austin would be highly acceptable too, they're at least twice as good to drive as you'd expect them to be. :)
Mind you, the last one I had a shot at had seen its 1200 replaced with a 1622 from an A60 and it felt positively lively which was entertaining, given that these things are set up for comfort rather than handling! :lol:

I think this will take some beaing for rarity value......

I was removing my Stag alternator, as you do, when I heard a strange exhaust note in the lane, its driver was visiting next door neighbour.

Yep, that exhaust note could only come from the DeLorean......

Or a Volvo 262/264/265, Peugeot 604, Renault 30, Alpine, Talbot Tagora, etc.

I saw the DeLorean at the NEC show one year and was well and truly disappointed that the stainless steel panels are purely for show, so may as well have been made from densely packed fudge for all the advantage they afford to the car's structure.
Did I want it though? Of course I did. 8)

Saw this Armstrong Armstrong Siddeley, which was beautiful;

Only to a few moments later to be eclipsed (in my opinion) by this stunning Triumph:

Which is so well looked after I thought it must be "famous" and sure enough on the rear shelf we have:

...a quick search on Google and we can see it is the car that Vanguards based their model 2.5PI on:

3 Tr7 convertibles - one obviously with a V8 as was the best sounding car I've heard for ages - and a mint yellow GT6
