Hi Ken,
This is the stuff I used.....
http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-RB7145
Its listed for the GT6 but says cut to size so I presume it should do (and its nice and cheap).
Have you sent me the panel for the GT6 yet? Its holding up progress now....
Cheers
Angie

Thanks for the link Angie. I was going to post it yesterday but I am hoping that Stewart may be calling in this evening on his way back from abroad. That way the carbs and panel can go in one hit.
If not, the panel will go 1st class tomorrow.

Bit more time spent on the car today. Petrol tank drained and removed (couple of gallons for the generator). Removed all the bumper bolts apart from the n/s bumper blade one, it just spins. It will be sorted! Attempted to remove the bumper only to find that someone had put a couple of mig weld blobs on the towbar bracket/rear panel!!!! It will be ground off without to much hassle but FFS, how irritating and pointless.
Flossie the insulating wool sheep has had her wool removed from the boot floor and most of the bitumen has been scraped off. There was some crystalised resin type stuff at each side of the boot floor. This has now been chipped away.
Condition-wise the boot floor is pretty damn good. There was oodles of original paint under the tank. The only hole I could find was in the n/s corner at the base of the wheel arch...... not bad really and easily repaired. The tank is in good condition and will need nothing doing to it.
Some piccies:
The boot will be stripped to bare metal rustproofed and painted. I will also waxoyl it. That way I can
virtually forget about it once done. I know I'm probably going a bit OTT but it'll make for an easier life in the future.

That's looking great Ken. I never imagined that car would be so solid under all the dirt and black paint!

I stole the idea from you, the light needed slight trimming as did the inner plastuic bit of the vent but it works a treat.

Where's my commission cheque then eh?
Was it difficult getting the feedwire back into the boot J?
