This is all Alolympic's fault ok

Plans for Flipper now focus around:

Replacent door trim panels, as the ones I have in red are warped more that the Starship Enterprise. However, instead of the vinyl, there might be a suprise replacement instead. Watch this space. The wooden dash is intact but someone revarnished it and it is wavy and spoils the cabin. Options to be considered. Headlining will need a minor repair, then will be painted as per my very first Triumph in 1981. A good job I made of it too. I will save up for a carpet from Coverdale. Not the wool one though  Do I need a rear seat. I don't carry passengers and Al made such a neat job of panelling in his. It'd be a good place to put speakers too.

Need to get some more Fiesta/Ka wheel studs, then swap the wheels over.

Bumpers, hmmm. Need more thought. What about a shorty Tolly rear? How hard are they to get hold of?

I really like the idea for a short Toledo bumper, if you dont go for it I might!

Good to see the old girl coming on nicely, she'll be awesome when she's caught up with your minds eye.

I have a spare wheel for you on an unused tyre if you want it, let me know.

Hi Dan, don't worry mate. Keep hold of it for Scruff. Always good to have a decent spare.

I think the shorty bumper at the back would look quite interesting, but I am not sure they pop up that often. I really shouldn't have gone to have a look at Al's car

Today will see an attempt at fabricating a door panel. Just copying the basic shape and stylee. Photos will be taken.

Ken, I think you are lucky with the colour combo of grey and red, one of the best.
Having looked at your car again, I think losing the red would be a real shame. You can still personalise but changing from red to black would lose something I reckon.

I see your point but dark grey Rover seats wouldn't match, unless I got them recovered which would be pricey but a perfect compromise.

Personally, I wouldn't let those Rover seats get anywhere near you car. They're just not period enough. Clean them up and get rid.
Not sure what your current seats are like, if possible, just use them, if not, find some others from another 1300.
To me, the 1300 interior is beautiful, and very 60's. The Dolly interior always had far less charm and so, has more potential from modifying.
I think customise, like planned, but do nothing that dates the changes to another era. Now there's a challenge.......

The red seats are fine, they just need more of a clean. I was just thinking from a back related perspective. See your point.

Now with the departure of LD, the spectre of the Cov Festival of Motoring looms over my head like a big loomy thing.

Things that I need to do to Project Grey:

Strip out the tan seats and door trims and put it all somewhere, goodness knows where.

Strip out the tan carpet and fur flex from around the doors

Secure the inertia seat belts

Sand down the dash veneer and do something interesting with it. Remove the door veneer trims.

Clean/degrease the glue stained headlining with meths, repair a small section on the rear inner pillar and paint with vinyl silk emulsion.

Fit new carpet and fur flex trim. I will have to re-clean the red seats and use the original door cards for now.

Fit lovely new coil.

Fit replacement wheel studs and fit alloy wheels.

Drive to Cov.

I'm confused. How many different interiors has this car had now? Are you going to fit musical chairs? :D

Nope, I don't know either.
Apparently it's in Hertfordshire, just north of Harlow.

Just noticed a tear on the passenger seat. =/

Its quite close to Bishops stortford, which is jnt 8 of M11

been there once or twice when i was seeing a girl in stortford!!

Edit...

Just looked on google, its between Harlow and stortford, so Jnt 7 M11 would be better and follow the load of roundabouts through Harlow and your come to it!!
