Picked up a few tips got to see some great cars inspired to work harder on mine great day out loved it !!

Excellent turnout and the weather was fine (bit chilly when the sun went in, I was frozen to be accurate, but heh, heater on on the way home had me warmed up Sprint stylie).

Some great cars, prepared to a very high standard, probably the most that I have seen in one location for a very very long time. There were so many of them, many won awards, but Paul Geering's Mimosa Sprint and Martin Stones Flamenco Sprint looked fabulous in the 'just finished state'.

The standard of the cars is on the increase IMHO

3 of my plug tubes were ok both ways and the 4th lasted out both journeys (well sort of) picked up some smart club ones though

I got nice and warm on the way home too - courtesy of the M40 car park - but it was only moderns that graced the hard shoulder - caroline found a scenic route which cooled the car down a bit and got us some appreciative looks. I even disguised the new rattle the car gained on the way home (with a nice deep exhaust noise) for the benefit of onlookers

A good day, worthy of the 250 mile drive (or something like that - my speedo isn't proper accurate), good to see so many faces again and nice to put faces to some of the people I have spoken to on here.....

A superb day...great to see you all again.A good turn out,some absolutely stunning cars,an amazing standard..and it didn't rain...result.

After the show Martin Bellinger and myself travelled south in convoy,avoiding the motorways through Oxfordshire and Berkshire...Beautiful scenery,no hold-ups..but it did have an eventfull ending!! ...i'll let Martin tell you the rest.

If anyone is thinking of getting a set of club spark plug tubes...get them,they are well worth the money...i had horrendous leaks from all four original tubes,so bad that oil was getting onto the manifold and smoking so much it resembled a bbq!...Put the club ones on at the show,drove 100 miles..popped the bonnet...dry as a bone...luvly.

On the way home,my car was faultless...i love days like this..

excellent event, always good to catch up with people. Boo Hoo for me though as I had to leave at 2:30 to get back to pick up Wife from the train station, public transport yet again that it gets in the way. Car though performed faultlessly too. All in all a good event and great to see so many cars from the "well used" to finally seeing Paul Geering's Sprint having read the mag articles.

Guys, I need to see your pictures from TDCIR.

I couldn't go this year for one reason or another and i need my dolo/tolo/1300 fix.

I'm making a habit of being the last man off the field at these car shows...with oily hands too! At least as I left this time, Dave Myers was sneaking back in.

Couldn't turn up dolly less so took the quicksprint on the trailer and tools in the boot proceeded to finish the job of taking the head off. For those that left, before I completed, the pictures are on 'quicksprint update' Time has been so tight for me recently I thought I'd make use of a sunny afternoon.

OK, so an hour or so's job took six due to the delightful interruptions and conversations, so much so I didn't actually get to walk around much, but it was still a very good show; pleased to meet David 6214 at last...though my mental image was of an older gent!!

A few I didn't get to see, including Andy the Man and Mark, so apologies there.

Oh...made it home via the scenic route with only three wheels on the trailer for those that know the story; thought I'd better keep clear of the motorways just in case!

Good to see you lot again. Lots of damn fine cars on show. Shame that I had to cut and run at 1pm

Next year will have me turning up in something Triumph related. Windscreen woes aside

Nath we have to get your fwd into the resto show mate.

Great cars on display and it was good to meet new members, and exsisting members, some of which i haven't seen since last TDCIR!!

Martin, great to see you again, i was going to have a look at your Toledo but couldn't see you untill you drove out the field

Ken hopfully the car will go in the resto show, that seat came up 100% and it would be brill to see all the interior done.....ill let you know whats going on, But thanks for showing me what can be done!!

Highlight of the day for me was MWK winning FWD of the day, still cant beleive it, iv had the car near 3 years and the first award iv won with her!!

For those who dont know coventry, look at the road name...
DOLOMITE AVENUE this is where the factory was, all the roads are named after Triumph cars!! as you turn left the Triumph club is on the right, its the only remaining part of the factory left!!

Well, what a weekend that was....

Combe in the sunshine on the Saturday, a drive from there to Oxford and then TDCIR at Hatton today.

I agree with Malc - the standard of the cars is definitely on the up and up. Jod remarked to me during the day that there are no "sheds" now, and he was spot on. The class winners were exceptionally good, and Mad Marts finished flamenco red beauty was just that.

So nice to see old friends again and to meet new ones (again). Full marks to Alun for utilising the time to remove the Quicksprint head, only to expose the horror that lay within....

Special thanks to Jod for a fine lunch alfresco too.

As Reg said, he and I had a wonderful journey home. we decided after last years debacle to avoid the M40 car park and came down via Oxford and Reading and then to Bracknell to avoid the other Sunday night car park on the M25.

We went through some beautiful villages and benefitted from some superb views to boot. The cars were running like a dream and the evening sun came to the party.

All good until on the A329(M) just approaching Bracknell as I lifted off the throttle I heard an ominous knock from the engine. This was followed by a blow up of biblical proportions as number 3 conrod made a break for the border by tearing a fist sized hole in the engine block and disappearing somewhere under the following Mazda (the driver of which almost sh1t himself). Some fast footwork got me to the side of the road but in a very exposed position.

Fortunately with Reg on hand and my tow rope we were able to tow the old girl to a safer location where I could await rescue. Many thanks Reg I owe you mate, as where we stopped was about the most dangerous place ever, especially with the light going.

Reg took some pictures of the carnage which I am sure he will be posting shortly. For me a bit of a sad ending as the little Tolly had gone so well all weekend including in extremis at the circuit Saturday. Perhaps I did bite off a bit much....

Still the recovery man was there within 45 minutes, and it turned out he had rebuilt a Toledo and a Dolomite in the past, though he has now moved onto American machinery. I got in at 9.30 after what by any standards has been an eventful weekend.

My utmost thanks to all involved on both days. Anyone needing to move on a 1300 engine you know where I am......

Martin, Sorry to hear about the Tolly mate. Damn. There's got to be an engine available somewhere. Glad it wasn't worse than that.

Martin, I have a short 1300 engine here, I can build it up with new rings and bearings if you need it. I'm planning to travel your way in about 3 weekends time.... Let me know and I'll get stuck in.

great day hopefully should be there in my sprint next year recognised a few cars off the forum and nice they were too my favourites at the show today were the l reg mimosa sprint and the low mileage se but must admit there was an excellent standard of cars on view
