Try Burlens,
But there is nothing wrong with waxstats as they do a job provided you keep them clean.
I went back to them on my Sprint. Its also much easier to release the jet from the choke linkage on
a waxstat carb.

I'd go for the actual NGK spark plugs. I swear by NGKs and I use them in both the Dolly and Astra. I've used them in previous cars and never had a moment's bother with them.

I have not used this brand but I have used this type of multi electrode plug in the mid 90s, I think made by Champion. At the time they were fitted to VWs as standard and fellow tutors and students at the college I was working at raved about them saying they got better consumption and mid range performance. The manufacturers claimed more efficient combustion so giving better fuel economy, more power and greater mid range flexibility. At the time I think I recall some claims that they helped with better combustion on engines that were worn and burning oil.
I tried them in my 1990 Rover 800 (50000mls)and got about 10% better fuel economy, far better mid range power and flexibility, but max power was down for some reason, the engine ran out of steam before hitting the rev limiter where before it would just keep powering up to the limit. I also put them in my Astra 1300 (18000mls) at the same time but didn't see as much benefit in fuel just a little more flexibility mid range. I ran them for about a year without any mechanical problems and then went back to the standard plugs at the next service and the 800s performance went back to as it was before, so defo with that 129bhp engine they had an effect but on the 70bhp Astra not enough to really notice. In fact I ended up giving that car to my dad to use after his got stolen and he took them out saying he didn't like them.
Personally I have thought about giving them a try in my 1300 to see if they made any improvements so if you try them let us know how they work.

I'm not sure about multi electrode plugs either, my 91 Cavalier 2.0 runs BP6ES as standard (N9YC to champion afficionados) and runs great and pulls very strongly, however I tried a set of BP6EK twin electrode platinum tips, mainly with the idea of longer life in mind but the car strongly disapproved! It was slightly better on fuel but the pickup became very spluttery and cold start very hit and miss, so I went back to standard in a hurry!

not changed the sparks as they are still good, just cleaned and gap check, but have changed the ign leads for red 8mm,done 500miles and all is well and fine, pulls like small 1300 train, the mis-fire and splutter was down to one or more of the original green leads breakin down causing the problem,,but new sparks are on the cards

There isn't one as such (Dolomite 1300s didn't have a voltmeter). Just run an ignition controlled live feed from the fusebox for your voltmeter. Use the live feed side so you don't lose the voltmeter if the fuse blows.
