Lee and I have done a huge amount since I last posted. Roof is on, interior is in, screens are on etc... I'll take some photos when im back over at his on Saturday. JGJ has had more work done, I'll do a seperate post on that as well.
I do have a strange issue with the electrics which I just cannot get to the bottom of. The hazard lights now work with a new switch as do the indicators. But..... when I turn the ignition off the hazard flasher relay is activating and lighting up the central warning light unit as if the hazard lights were activated. The thing is the indicators dont flash and the wipers pulse with the relay clicking!
I have isolated all the circuits that I can think of, rear loom, wiper switch, ignition switch etc... but it is still drawing power from the purple wire to the hazard relay from somewhere.
Any ideas?

I think mine is nice, but that is off the scale.
The level of detail is craftsmanship that is rare these days,
A real pleasure to watch this thread.
Richard.

Fantastic job, as usual, James.
I'm really getting the urge to restore another car, I just need more space.

Success, we have working electrics. Sort of... the fuel gauge doesnt work but that's an easy fix!
A couple of things were causing problems. I'm not sure the main earth was great, just where it was sprayed. So I cleaned that up, tapped the threads in it and cleaned the bolt. The ignition switch packed up, the new indicator switch that Lee bought is trash, and the new hazard switch that I bought is useless! I ended up cleaning up the old indicator stalk and the old hazard switch and everything now works.
Lee has had the roof and headlining fitted as well as the screens. The interior is now in, the car is looking just great! It runs great as well, cant wait to have a drive in it!
Not a huge amount left to do, just refitting the dash, some interior and fitting the heater.

It's alive!!!!!!
Dashboard is back in, parcel shelf back in. Gearbox tunnel sound deadened, insulated and trimmed.
This is how it was delivered to me over 4 years ago, this and the boxes of bits Lee had for it! We've come a long way!
Today I took it for it's first drive, ignore the fan belt!
Click on the last two photos for a video. Clutch is really sharp, it just needs to bed in a bit.
Still plenty of niggles to sort out. Some electrical issues, fuel gauge isn't working, inner headlamps need wiring, things like that. Need to trim the boot, it also needs tracking and a re-tuning and the fan belt tightening but it runs really well.
Letting everything cool down now after getting nice and hot, I'll re-torque the head, check the fluids and give her a good tune.
