Finished with the top now, all that remains is the seal, and whether to cut the new glassmat to the same size
as the old pad or go full coverage.

End of line cheap can from £+ shop, £2.99,
I'm useless at spray paint, but find the cheap stuff is more forgiving.

Inspired by Flyfisherman, I used a neoprene spongy seal, but in order not to break tradition, as always, overdone,

25mm wide x 15mm thick, but it does compress down to 4mm.

Bulldog clips temporarily loaned from someone :)

My only concern is that you can force it down low enough to get the little studs to line up. I can see that seal being a bit thick....
Then of course you have to compress the front edge enough to pull the horizontal holes in to alignment. They are only spire clips and even with
the old seal Ive had studs snap off and spire clips give way. So best of luck with the refit....:-)

Wow that paint is excellent....

Starting to think I should have painted mine a different colour. Currently it's satin black!

Mark, you should see the colour of his cooling system hoses!

J nuts for the tunnell are pretty buckled to begin with, and I can only find J nuts in smaller sizes, U nuts (clips}
are no problem.

For the thick seal I have ordered some M6 U clips which should allow me to use longer bolts initially and then change
to shorter ones.

It seems a shame to cover up the mirror finish you'd previously achieved!

I know, loved the previous look, but the carpet is inevitable.

Why not go for a new style "iron man" interior and some lime green rubber bits to match?

One of the tags did not survive the bending, other than a new switch solder is the only answer.

A small rubber cover with solder should suffice.
