Are we going to have a white Christmas then? Our snow's due in on Thursday. I do love a white Christmas, gets me right out of those dull visits to relatives I don't even like and wouldn't ordinarily touch with a cattle prod.

I just spent all evening looking for a rechargeable torch for my Dad, that ill keep alight for more than an hour. Seems that they are all too expensive. Spent the rest of the evening looking for a talking kitten for my daughter. They are all sold out! Don't you just love Christmas shopping?!
If anyone knows of a decent rechargeable torch or where I can get a talking kitten I don't mind an on-topic response!!!

~Buy one of them windup or kinetic energy torches, always ready to use, just wind or shake to power up, a good decent one will stay lit for 15-20 minutes.

And back off topic again, If you every have to go and pick someone up from Gatwick airport (or any airport for that matter) do not wear a yellow reflective jacket, as soon as i was near the arrivals area people were approching me asking for directions

My missus is pi55ed off with me & thinks I'm tight.
The christmas lights are now erected without any help from me. I think its daft that we save energy all year then waste it with pointless coloured lights.
I wont switch the outside ones on as we cant see them when we are in the house with the curtains drawn. I only switched them on briefly once when she was on her way home so that she could see them as she walked up the road.

Here's a good question: Why can't chickens cross the road without having thier motives questioned?

Sainsbury's Chilean Merlot is remarkably good for the £3.29 per bottle that it cost me.

Cheers! :sozzled:

Today is a s#it day.

1. Arrive at work to find I have 1 teabag left. I cease to function when deprived of tea, managed to wring 2 cups out of the bag and not got much work done since.
2. Had a shitload of work dropped in my lap by some arse building a cabinet how he thought it should be built rather than how we asked for it to be built.
3. It's the bloody christmas lunch in the canteen so all other options are off including the sandwich bar (my usual option). Last year we got warned this would be the case, this year - silence.
4. Just to make my joy at the world complete some w##ker has put a christmas CD on blasting across the office. Stuff what anyone thinks including the Muslims in the room. Noddy's f###ing pension rings out as I type.
5. Oh and the coffee machines have been changed since I last ran out of bags. They used to serve a decent cup of tea because they are the type that has a stack of cups with real teabags in inside. Black machine tea with real milk (which I bring in daily) is perfectly passable. New machines do white tea only, tastes like a tablespoon of used cat litter has been stirred in.

Shall I just go home?

sounds wise! I ran out of teabags last week, fortunately I was able to pinch some off a colleague. We don't have a noise problem in our office either, everyone uses headphones. Our sandwich bar is totally separate from the canteen too so was unaffected by the christmas lunch (although our section went to a rather nice local pub for ours...)

Finished an assignment at about 7:30 this morning then had to repair one of Betty the Daf's engine mounts. That is not a nice job cos you really need the engine out to do it. I found a couple of big crow bars, a hammer and a strategically bent spanner did the job though 8)
