IIRC I feed the wire down through the inside edge of the screen rubber and into the boot to connect brake light wire where it comes of the dimmer relay area.wasn't too difficult just a bit fiddly and time consuming.

There's a fair few loose wires in the boot. I will have to do some head scratching nearer the time for me to actually take real notice of them.

Loose wire in the boot could be from the reversing lights, the stop light that was mounted on the parcel shelve and iirc there was a fog light which i removed.

Probably the most frustrating bit of the bodywork will be to try and improve the line up of the bonnet somehow.

Tomorrow will see work commence on the final removal of the rear bumper/towing bracket, removal of the small amount of remaining paint, rust killing and primer coat applying. Hopefully!

Well whaddya know. Tried several times to access the garage today to crack on with the FWD. Can't get close because some knob jockey has decided to park his VW whatever across the front of the garage. No-one in the flats knows who it belongs to. A wasted day. How marvellous.

Let a tyre down, place a note under the wiper "noticed you had a flatty, call me on my mobile 07xxxxxxxxx and you can borrow my pump". Then when they call you you can tell em they shud no be parking there"

Not problematic enough in the circumstances, Ken!

Now, if, and strictly theoretically of course, some random person were to crouch beneath the front of his car and attach a nut to one of his fan blades with a 2 ft length of nylon monofil or similar, with the lightest breaking strain value that can be found, then the inconsiderate badstart would soon get the message and the length of the line would mean that his radiator wouldn't burst until he'd at least cleared the door.
The random person shouldn't use string; it doesn't pull cleanly off when the nut contacts the radiator, and so leaves evidence of what caused the sudden and otherwise inexplicable leak.

Thinks... Golf you say? Then it's an electric fan so the car would get quite some distance before the fan cut in.

I suppose it could mean that the VW remains there even longer! Best just to scratch a message on the bonnet asking him not to park there again!
