Blimey, I thought my rear panel had a lot of filler when I stripped it, but that door was on another level

I was quite surprised at the finish it gave. I expected it to scratch the metal to buggery (can I say that?), but it did give quite a polished finish, as you said. I think I'll have to go with a smaller wheel though as I bought a 4" one & that has knackered my grinder.

Today Mary carried on DAing & wire brushing the remnants of what little paint remains. She still has the engine bay to do but I did do the front panels for her. I also removed the doors & fuel tank.

I also remembered to drill the holes for the rear brakes load sensing valve. Luckily I have my track Sprint outside that doesn't have any seats in the back so it was quite straight forward to measure up.

I'm hoping that Jon the sprayer can pick the shell up on Monday at some point.

That brings the list of the converted up to about 10
Make that 11 - I used one for the first time yesterday to strip the underseal and rust of my GT6 chassis - I was very impressed, it absolutely flayed it off in seconds leaving nice shiny metal  A leccy drill with a wire brush just pushes the underseal about until it becomes clogged up and useless. Horrendously filthy job though.

Whilst I was finishing Mike's Sprint, Mary finished the engine bay on PUS. We then dropped the subframe & suspension out and fitted my legendary frame on casters. I will give Jon a ring in the morning to see when he can pick the shell up.

I had a call from the sprayer this morning, so I had a quick dash home at lunchtime to meet him at my house to pick up the shell.

:bluewave:

I'm hoping to receive PUS in the next couple of days. :D

A big thanks to Alun for storing PUS for me for the last few months, and for organising a couple of his friends to bring it down this evening. I hope the wine goes down well tonight. :D

Here are a few snaps taken just now...

There are a couple of shovels full left on the lock up floor; I'll bag it up and send it down. Mix it in with the filler and magnets should stick ;-)

We cracked on with stripping PUS today. All the interior including dash, heater matrix, steering wheel & control pedals, seats, carpet (well a couple of bits) and door panels were removed. Servo brake & clutch master cylinders, servo, battery, rad, etc. removed from engine bay ready for the running gear to be dropped out tomorrow. Replacement seats have been washed & cleaned up by Mary & are ready to go.

I don't want any of the glass (non-Sundym), the front windscreen is cracked & rear one has some scratching on it, so if anyone wants the rest of the windows before I scrap the doors they are welcome to it. The doors are shot btw.
