Removed and stripped the front subframe, the front mounting bolts were rusted to the spacers so had to drill those out. Otherwise it is all in good condition. I will get it all powder coated.

The car has been badly painted in the past so the guy who is painting the car said it would be best to strip it back to bare metal. Madmart makes it look easy but this wing took most of the afternoon.

Hi Dave

I am using industrial paint stripper as I don't want to create a load of dust.

Tony

Be careful using paint stripper, make sure is doesnt get into any seams,it can affect the paint when you repaint the car

Great work Tony! The clean and strip discs are also good at removing paint and don't damage the metal underneath...time consuming though and messy.
At least you will know what is underneath your new paint and there is less risk of any reaction etc.

Enjoy!

Hi Matt

Yes I used those discs on underside of the Rover, as you say very messy.

I will stick with the stripper and watch out for the seams.

With shell now completely bare it went off today to be blasted underneath, last bits of welding done then paint. I gave up with the paint stripper.

Great to see Tony! A very useful bit of kit that for transportation too.

Is it the same chap who painted MSO for you doing the work?

All the best with cleaning up the odd's and sods while it is away - an ideal time for that at the moment!

Yep it is being painted at the same shop as MSO, but it has gone to a new guy for the blasting and welding, a bit of a gamble but he seems to know his stuff.

The underside has been blasted and all is pretty solid, boot floor and offside chassis rail under the wheel arch are the worst. Oh and the bulkhead☹
